As a side-note, I am temporarily jacking this thread to say that according to wiki, the Cola Wars were serious back in the day — so much so that the Coke guys actually made a similar drink for no other reason than to troll Pepsi and kill their new crystal drink.
I'm somewhat surprised that the effort was so involved and that they had such long-vision to actually stay the course and make their troll drink a reality. Coke played it dirty and figured out that it was easier to bring down Pepsi's drink than to create a better product to compete with.
"According to Coca-Cola Chief Marketing Officer Sergio Zyman, Tab Clear was an intentionally "suicidal," "kamikaze" effort to create an unpopular beverage that was positioned as an analogue of Crystal Pepsi in order to "kill both in the process." Another testimony for BH3D here. I've bought his double cup holders for my FZJ80, front and rear, and a single cup holder for my 2000 T4R. I know there isn't really any need for a 3rd cup holder in the later 3rd gens, but the extra storage space is more than handy when it comes to keeping the cup holders open for their intended purpose. I keep my keys, cell phone, and occasional extra water bottle in it and it's a sturdy as a stock part. Just be sure to pilot holes and only tighten the screws a screw driver. Do NOT use a drill! You definitely won't be disappointed in the product!

I'd be interested in something like this for my 2wd.
This picture is from a PreRunner.
I know I'd have to steal the shifter and linkage from a 4wd 4Runner to make room on the left. Maybe steal the shift bezel from a 4wd too, and then create a cupholder/cubby that attaches to the opening where the 4wd shifter usually is?
Just an idea to think about; not sure if it'll get any traction as this is more 'mod' than 'simple purchase'.

I did develop a 12 volt plug but was having issues with the ease of modifying the ashtray hole. There is a metal backing plate in there that is causing issues. It's a pita to remove and I want a product that is as close to a simple plug in play as possible. I had to just put that project on hold because I realized it was going to take a lot more time in R&D then I have right now. Once the holidays are over (in January) I will resume the development of this product. I'm also trying to make it as universal as possible so it can be used in a few Toyota Trucks/SUVs.

Recently installed a single front and rear cupholder in my 97. I will say the product is very nice, and very easy to install. If you are on the fence about buying, do not worry one bit about the quality of this product for the price. The cup holders are made much more sturdy than the console it attaches to. Worth the money and especially with the discount.

I will post pics once I get a more refined prototype. The first prototype was all about function and not precise fitment. I just don't want pics up of something that doesn't fit well. Will give a bad impression and a false idea of what the final design will look like.

I thought about it, and I might. Plus I am going to be removing it to do the radio/led dash/climate in the future so while I am at it, I might.
I have been looking for a gray color that a better factory match. My gray is close but not right. I did find a paint this week that is SUPER close. I will be using that gray for hear on out. It's an interior car paint for plastic so not only does it match really close in color, it also matches in texture pretty well too.
So the holiday season is finally upon us. Orders are getting a bit crazy. There is 6 of us now processing orders as fast as we can. Right now we are shipping within 4 days of orders being placed. I am hopeful we will be able to continue that turn around but I also need your patience. If orders take 5 or 6 days to ship; PLEASE be patient. This is my super busy season and I promise I am processing orders as absolutely quickly as possible. Some orders ship next day but 5 days is about worst case scenario right now.
I'm getting the same question multiple times a day and realized I just need to post the answer here and hopefully answer it for everyone. The question is; am I running a black Friday special? The short answer is, no. I'm still running the free shipping promo and 15% off the entire order with coupon code "TEQ15" but nothing beyond that. The profit margin for 3D printing is just super narrow and any promo beyond that and I end up loosing money on each order. Hopefully I didn't ruin someones plans with holding out for an awesome deal on black Friday. The timing on telling folks I'm not doing a black Friday deal the 2 days before black Friday isn't probably the best marketing plan but I just didn't want a mountain of emails over the next two days about a possible promo.

Honestly, you're making a custom, made to order specialty item. I think people will understand that. It's not a readily available item. Kudos to a great job on this. I think it's great and it matches and looks part of the vehicle. What more could anyone want.
