So I survived the week/weekend of black Friday. Took almost a full week to get the mountain of orders shipped out but all orders that were placed from Thanksgiving day through 2 days ago have now shipped. I can finally breathe. Thanks for all the orders guys. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon. All the orders that came in from Friday through tomorrow will ship out Monday morning.
Is there a need for cup holders on the 96-98?

I had a lits of projects to get through by October and I thought I would wrap up the rear USB project, but the 2nd Gen Cup Holders took WAY more work to get to market then I expected. I don't do any product development in November and December due to the insane increase in orders. I will get back to R&D in January and this project is near the top.
My original plans for use of space got a little messed up when I came across the difficulty of disassembling the ashtray portion. I wanted something that was an easy plug and play and the metal plate behind the ash try pull out thing was a PITA to work with. I am now rethinking my attachment approach and that will determine if I have enough room for a double plug.Thanks for the update. Ok, I'm assuming you saw the pic where someone flush mounted one in the ashtray? I can't find it now.
I originally wanted to remove the ashtray all together for a cleaner look but found a metal plate behind it to deal with. I could just use the ashtry itself as the mounting surface but am not sure how clean that will look. I will figure it all out in January when I actually have some time to sit down and really tear into the console. I just want something the looks clean and is super easy to install. I'm feeling like I might only be able to get one of those desires. Hopefully I will figure out both.
Just a heads up to anyone planning on putting in an order before Christmas. We will be heading out of town from 12/18-12/29 visiting family in Colorado. Any orders that need to be shipped out and delivered by Christmas must be placed by this Thursday 12/15 in order to be shipped out before I leave and delivered before Christmas. No orders will ship out during the dates we will be gone. Orders we resume shipping out on 12/30.

Opened my 96-98 double cupholder today! (Couldn't wait for Xmas) Haven't installed it yet but can't wait to!
I'm wondering if anyone has tried a spray on rubber coating or something like it to keep down rattles and such. I like mountain dew in a can and I'm afraid there might be some noise. I know that's pretty OCD but seems like it would be an easy fix to mask off everything but the holes and spray/brush some "use this" or ? In there. Also, there might be an issue with adhesion to the material. Don't know if it's objet or SLA or SLS?

It's been a while since I posted on here. I try not to promote my products anymore. Business is at the point where I'm now struggling to keep up. I try to avoid my old threads now BUT a question is now on my mind that I want to ask all the 4runner guys. I will be asking the same question to the 1st gen and 2nd gen guys. I'm looking to start downsizing this side business. I will be looking for vendors to start carrying my cup holders so I can step back from the business side of things and just focus on production. Here is my question to you guys. Would you be interested in purchasing the 3D CAD file of my cup holder designs? I'm thinking of opening up my files for download for guys that want to print my stuff on their own or hire someone to print for them. I will still offer the printing service but thought that some would be interested in the file. They would be around $5. If you are interested in the file then let me know. If there is good interest then I will probably go that route. If folks are fine with me printing all the cup holder and have zero interest in the file then I will probably avoid that route. A pm/message or posting here would be great. My thought was that this could possibly lower the demand on me for printing everything.
If I was a company then it would be a good thing. I'm a father of 4 with the oldest being 7 and have a full time job. I have already hired all my friends to help. Unfortunately I'm now out of friends. (it's a short list) so expanding isn't a direction I want to go.
