Is there a quick way to open a section of my timing cover 05 v8

Have an intermittent oil pressure light that comes on very dimly and i suspect its a wiring issue based on reading t4r. Now im wondering is there a quick/easy way to open crack open a section of the timing belt cover to inspect a harness. Picture for reference on the harness i want to check.

Not really. There is a metal coolant tube that uses one of the retaining nuts for the cover that runs right in front of it that pretty much needs to come out to get that cover off. And the wiring harness runs in front of the cover as well. You can see the tube here.

Hm, if i drained all the coolant top of air filter, radiator hoses could i get that cover off without removing serp belt and the pulleys and stuff? Dont want to remove like ac compressors

This just makes it really hard because im not due for a timing belt replacement for a little while, and i wouldnt be able to tackle that on my own. Also im not 100% sure its sending proper oil to the engine but i still have to drive it

AC compressor isn't even involved. You could drain out some coolant to be able to remove the one line but the rubber hose isn't easy to get to. Mine had to be cut off when I was doing the timing belt but that wasn't a big deal for me. Each of the plastic timing covers are individual and can be removed one at a time. Just that coolant tube makes it a pain in the ass on that side.

Is the OPS under the timing cover? Or does the harness just run through there? If the OPS is more easily accessible you can just run a new wire inatead if reparing the faulty section in the current ciruit.

Im not 100% sure tbh, i saw a guy on t4r with the same issue and this is what resolved it. Im going to be replacing the oil pressure sender/switch the sits right above the oil filter in the next week or so, but i dont have any other option but to keep driving the vehicle for now.
