Is there an LED switchback for the front

Looking for one that's not $150. I'm interested, but that's a bit rich for my taste for a turn signal bulb.

You can use any 3157 switchback; but it requires new bulb sockets,a relay,and load resistors. Do the DRL wire bypass,use that bypassed wire as a ground trigger for the relay. The relay then powers the white LEDs, wired to the “dim” circuit of the new bulb sockets. Load resistors then need to be wired to sockets’ “bright” circuit,which are the amber LEDs. I personally use Profile Peak bulbs from The Retrofit Source https://www.theretrofitsource.com/3157-profile-peak-led-bulbs.html

I think you lost me at the "new bulb socket" portion. Not sure how the 3157 would load into the existing housing? More info needed please. Is there a write up for this?

If you want a quality switchback, you are going to have to fork it over. I paid $125 for my vLed switchback back in 2014. Currently it has been experiencing problems, BUT they have made good on the warranty and have been getting parts on a nearly 4 year old "system". I looked into other cheaper SBs and have found nothing but complaints. I dunno, I stick to the adage, "If you want to play, you have to pay"

As far as getting adapters, I can't remember that, but vLeds can accommodate you with one. I recall some "plug adapter", but that's about it.

There should be at least one writeup on the DRL bypass. As for the rest of the stuff, I doubt it, everyone else takes the easy way and buys the expensive Tritons...though I'm guilty of buying them too but they're going in my taillights as extra reverse light/tailgater deterrents I can post more details later, busy at the moment working on my 4th and 3rd gens

Do you have a 03-05 or 06-09? The older ones use 3157 bulbs in the bumper lights as DRLs and turn signals.

If you have a 03-05 without DRLs the front signals are 7440 bulbs. You'll have to change the sockets to dual filament 7443 type and find a source in the fusebox that's powered with the ignition on.

I know reviving this is a reach but I'm also searching for a relatively straight forward solution to get switchbacks working (as close to OE as possible) on my 2004 Limited w/DRL.

I purchased these thinking I could just plug them in and be good to go. This was before I knew Toyota didn't wire them with 3 wires, only 2.

My question is, can I just buy new 3157 connectors (below) with 3 wires, T-the extra wire into my parking lights, and call it done? Will I also have to disable the DRLs for it to function properly?

im so glad someone revived this recently. ive got an 03 so there arent really any plug and play options without forking out the paychecks. i did, however, pick these up on ebay last week. going in later this week as im waiting on my new fog housings and want to do them at the same time

Reporting back............

I've seen replaced my switchbacks to the V6 switchbacks years ago (2018 I think). They continue to function just fine. As I mentioned, they were expensive (compared to amazon/fleabay kits that are much cheaper). I'd say 6 years of trouble free service is great and noteworthy. Of course, YMMV
