Actually I think he is talking about some of the other hard core boards. In some of the off roading boards you may ask a simple and get slammed.

That was my experience On YodaTech. Some of the members were great with a newbie and very generous with their time and info, but there were enough trolls to make asking a basic question uncomfortable and some had their fun by feeding the newbie bull@#$%. I still search the site on occasion, but do not post there.

Agreed. Here's my two scents on the whole thing. Back when I joined T4R.org, I also joined many other Toyota forum sights including YodaTech. I posted the same thread to all of them because it was an urgent issue imo and wanted help and ideas fast. After looking around in the forums I figured YodaTech would give me the best results so I posted there first. I think by the time I got around to posting on here it had been a few days later and had kind of given up hope because I had gotten no answers on anything else. After I made my post, I got a reply either that night or the same day (my thread might've been posted at like 2 in the morning so that's why :rofl: ) Not only was T4R.org the only website where someone actually replied to my question, I also received a lot of genuine help. Thanks to guys like [MENTION=118444]flyinhawaiian01[/MENTION] [MENTION=49649]KidVermicious[/MENTION] and [MENTION=63714]Bad_Vision[/MENTION] (I know there are a lot of other guys on here that make this site great, but since I spend most of my time in the classics section this is who I see most) I felt really at home here and decided to make this my one and only T4R forum. It's because THIS SITE IS THE BEST that I am still an active member even though my T4R has been dead since last August and will continue to be so at least til next August. I just hope one day I have the same affect on someone else like those guys had on me :thanks:

Thanks for the shout out King. I was a newb once as well and the only reason I know so much about Toyotas is because I tear them apart. I have owned 27 first Gen 4runners in the past 10 years and all but 3 are 84-85. I suggest to anyone that you buy a junker to tear apart and learn with, as it is a big investment in your knowledge.

And if you do have questions just ask we all can benefit for the sharing of knowledge as questions typically offer many answers and not always is there one way to complete a task.
