Is this too much for 2002 4runner sport?

I found this 4runner on craigslist and I feel like the price is pretty high even though it does come with all the aftermarket stuff. I'm just looking for some insight from those of you who already own a 4runner.

IMO yes, too much. 3rd gens are popular though and in my area a bone stock 3rd gen with a rusted out undercarriage and a lot more miles are listed for 9 to 10k what they actually go for I don't know. It looks nice, you could always go look at it and make an offer you are comfortable with!

I've talked to the guy and he says that interior is clean along with the under carriage. No major problems just usual wear and tear. What do you feel is a good price?

Keep in mind the miles are different from what the odometer says because of the larger tires.

I'd offer him $9,000 and go up to $10,500. Take it on a good test drive and put the pedal to the floor and see how it reacts. It should down shift and go. Give it a very close look over and check to make sure everything works. I'd check out these videos, Eric is a very good guy and has 20+ years of working on cars (In his own shop and at a dealer) and knows a lot. Very helpful.

Also remember aftermarket stuff doesn't increase resale value. If anything it loweres it, and you don't know who installed the parts and if it was done correctly.

I'd say the truck is worth about $8000-$9000 (with lift, not counting wheels/tires) but it has some pricey wheels/tires. I don't see a lot of aftermarket stuff on it - a lift can be done for less than $500. If you like the wheels/tires, it's probably not a bad buy at $9000-$9,500, but I'd say $11,500 is quite a bit too high (and he says price is firm). Just my opinion.

It does look like a nice truck but it may have had an exciting life! The best bet is a one-owner, old couple-driven stock vehicle you can mod yourself (what I found). The most excitement it had before I bought it was driving in the snow, which probably didn't happen much in southeast Kansas. Its life has gotten more exciting since then.

That's what I found too. Completely agree. I personally would not feel comfortable spending extra money on one owned by (assumption of course) a younger male. I'm assuming they're younger simply based on the statement that they're going to start school. And assuming they're male, well because most are. No offense [MENTION=76432]VA4runnerchic[/MENTION]. Good bet that it has been driven tough (I know I did that to my vehicles when I was younger).

Now if it was a single-owner who seemed like they never touched dirt? I'd be much more comfortable parting with a little extra money.

I just bought my 2nd, 3rd gen runner, for $9600. It only had 80k on it. They are a dime a dozen keep looking till you find one you really like.

Agree with all of the above. You can find a nice stock with similar miles for around $6500-$7000 around these parts. Add your own lift, wheels, and tires, and still be under $9000.
