ISR Mod help on a 99

Im planning on doing the ISR mod today on my 99 limited. From what I read on rerouteing the FPR hose they recomend getting a 1/4 tee and about a foot of 7/32 hose. My question where's the best place to get these materials and whats the purpose of the FPR and why do we re route it? sorry if the question is noobish im still learning alot about these engines. Thanks in advance for any advice

You can but the parts at any auto parts store.

FPR is fuel pressure regulator. (purpose is self explanatory)

You reroute it becuase the vacuum line in the intake tube that it runs to now is eliminated when you do the ISR mod so you need to run it to a new vacuum source.

If you are referring to the line that comes off your intake elbow and goes to the front of your Air Intake plenum...... I simply used a longer piece of hose, and added my own inlet to my ISR pipe.

Fightman, I noticed that on yours. How did you all the inlet to the intake pipe? That's a clean look.

Another option

is drilling a hole in the ISR substitute and welding/threading a nipple into it and reinstalling the vacuum tube. I used the T.

^ I figured that but having it protrude into the air intake tube like that kind of defeats the purpose of the ISR I thought. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I drilled my tube, then inserted the small piece of Brake line (yes... I used some old brake line.. lol!).

I didn't weld in place, I simply made sure the hole was a tad smaller than the brake line, then pounded it into place. The brake line doesn't stick out inside of the ISR tube, it's flush with the inner wall. I then put some super glue around the brakeline, to insure that it was air tight.

I've pulled, yanked, and done just about everything to get the brake line piece off, but it's on there good!
