Recently, I chose to be anti-radicalism, we all need to NOT support a body of people that Fuels greater violence.

Could you explain this? I assume we are all anti-radicalism.

I didn't think that one through from a third point of view.

It was in reference to Arbs Vs. Jewish , Christians Vs. Muslims (Iraq/Syria).
Its easy to get involved in support of retaliation against a region or religion.

In my example, I chose not to hate Muslims for forcing Christians out of their homes but rather simply disagree with the actions of the radicals.

I guess this is hard to relate to unless you or someone you know have lived through it. Hope that clarified that statement.

I agree with [MENTION=82289]Yoter[/MENTION] .. Both side have tons of videos that is propaganda that is subjective. What would be awesome is to find videos of Israeli and Palestinian kids playing together, neighbors helping each other etc.. But that is hard to find, because who wants to watch a simple video like that, where people get a long, that's boring to the public.

The good news is that there are such programs, you don't hear about them because the media know that blood sells. But inside Israel there are many programs for integration of Arab and Israeli society.
In the community (a kibutz) where I lived (while not in the military) we had a pool, a soccer program, and maternity yoga that was available for free to people from the neighboring Arab and Drews villages.
We also employed a mostly Arab staff and continued to do so after the Kibutz safe was broken into twice! And after there was a shooting by and Arab.
There are a LOT of efforts being made to build bridges of peace and friendship.
SODASTREAM the company that BDS wants you to boycot is actually based in the WEST BANK and employs mostly ARABS not Israelis.
As I said earlier there are young Gazans who are studying in Israeli universities on full scholarship programs.
Gaza gets free electricity water gas all from Israel.
The Naval blockade on Gaza is not to prevent goods from entering Gaza Israel implemented this only after Gaza decided to make its goal the destruction of Israel. All the shipments still make it to gaza they just first are inspected at an Israeli port. And in case you don't know MANY weapons sophisticated missiles etc have been found in Gaza bound shipments.

This is one of the best most informative videos I have seen about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
It is very long 78 minutes but it tells a lifetime of knowledge experience and wisdom. Put it on in the background and hear this mans incredible journey and difficult life struggle.
I consider myself well informed on the conflict but I learned a lot from hearing this story.

THIS is mindblowing. The UN finds Hamas is storing rockets at two of their schools, strongly condemns the groups responsible, and turns the caches over to....Hamas? what?

Today, UN chief Ban Ki-Moon revealed his dismay at learning that at least one of the two caches has “disappeared” after being handed over by UNRWA to unidentified persons.

“The rockets were passed on to the government authorities in Gaza, which is Hamas," a senior Israeli official told the Times of Israel. "In other words, UNRWA handed to Hamas rockets that could well be shot at Israel.”

It is very sad to see that people have lost their humanity and ironic to see how the barbaric killing of Palestinian civilians is being justified. I am not sure if any one of you know how many innocent children have died due to bombings. Shame on every one who justifies this brutal killing and genocide.

* Correct me if I'm wrong but the people (over 1 million) in Gaza are trapped correct? They have no where to go.
* For example when is the blockade going to end?
* Do we consider the situation to be an ongoing occupation?
* How is it moral to keep expanding settlements on disputed land?

If their was no blockade this war would be 100000% worse for BOTH SIDES!
The blockade is a direct result of the Palestinians dedicating their life to killing innocent Israelis and Jews.
Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinians with the hope against all odds that they would build a nation, a home, encourage education and PEACE.
INSTEAD the Palestinian have done the EXACT OPPOSITE! Electing an Islamist extremist Terrorist organization as their leaders. Spending their international aid on terror, teaching hate and murder in PRE SCHOOLS, and using every means available to harm, kill, and endanger Israelis.
There are NO Settlements in the GAZA just so we are clear on that.
AND ISRAEL HAS OFFERED TO GIVE 98% of the WEST BANK to the Palestinians on TWO separate occasions both times the Palestinians refused.
The Palestinians have no desire for a state as long as there are Jews in Israel; in their PUBLICLY STATED GOAL they call for the murder of all jews. "the time will come when the tress will call out and bring us to the Jews to kill them" this is from Hamas mission statement.

These cease fires were offered over the last two weeks think how many lives could have been saved! AND Israel is offering this cease fire to the terrorists who attacked Israel first and initiated this war!

But its tough trying to take a position about this issue especially when Hamas is at best an Islamist group fighting for freedom to rule their own territory (which will include the implementation of Sharia Law) and at worst a complete terrorist unit (at least that is what people say right). Islamic Extremism (remember ISIS anyone) is still an expanding world threat. In fact the threat of terrorism in the US or EU is now higher than it has ever been in 15 years BECAUSE there are an estimated 10,000 EU citizens who are believed have joined the fight against Assad in Syria. Even if 1/10 of these fighters are the real deal that is insanely dangerous because they have EU passports and can fly right into the US without a Visa background check. This is because EU citizens (from what I have read) are able just fly into the US with practically no questions asked. As soon as they decide to come here they will be allowed in just like any other EU citizen due to the current laws.

Brian - I'm impressed with your well rounded understanding of what's going on in the middle east. I find more and more that Americans are aware of whats going on out there. In the 80's no body knew where any of these countries even were on the map. It's great that people are aware of what's going on and have an educated opinion on the matter.

Thank you for pointing that out in such a respectful manner, I do not intend to offend anyone but as you may know this subject hits close to home I have already lost many friends. I know because I have spent many years in the West Bank and Gaza that many people their want to live quite normal peaceful lives.

That having been said in Gaza, Israel has done everything it could we caved into every request from the Palestinian people. And they overwhelmingly elected Hamas. For this I must blame the people as a nation and as a whole. The same way I blame Israel for the actions of the IDF and I blame America for the actions of our military. This is the reason memorial day has the meaning it has because the bloodshed is on all of our hands in a democracy, we send our soldiers to kill and to die.
I see no reason not to hold the Palestinians to the same standards.
