those are too pricey for me, plus i have heard about the customer service from Shrockworks....

Pricey, yes, but they'll last forever. Plus I like how they hug the rocker panel.
Haven't heard about customer service, can you share any details?

Z-Cruiser----The customer service issue mainly comes from their bumpers and lead time. I dont think it applies to the items like sliders. There are dozens of threads on all the portals about people ordering a bumper, being charged full price at time of order, told they wll have it in 8-10 weeks and six-nine months later still waiting for their bumper to arrive and getting no input from Shrockworks about delay or new expected ship date. I do know that most of the time those delays were experienced was when he was to big for his location and also shortly after he moved into a larger facility.

Pikeman has it right. But as far as hugging the rocker panels, you can have any set as close as you want. It matters how you weld them on. A gap is nice so if you really smash them hard, and they get bent upwards (which can easily happen) you have a little room to play with so you can still open your door.
any choice of sliders is obviously better than none at all. 4xinnovations, shrockworks, addicted offroad, trail-gear, stubbs.... ect. Im sure each will withstand some beatings

We just built them a couple weeks ago. The kickout is a very minor kick out. I built them specifically for my build, but could easily duplicate them if someone wants a set. The kick out is a double edged sword IMO. But, I wanted to try a slight one instead of the typical huge one as they tend to do more bad than good IMO. They big kick outs push the tire away from the rock they need to climb over. This, bringing the rear quarter into play. I have seen it happen a lot.
With mine, I wanted the tire to still be able to grab the rock, so the kickout only covers the inner 2/3rds of the tire. But, should still help to keep stuff out of my rear door.
The main 2x2 tube is .188 wall. The legs are 1.5x1.5 .250 wall and the frame is plated where they mount. The outer tube is 1.75" .120 wall.
They were tested a few times a couple weeks ago too. :cowboy:

about half an inch under the drivers door. the pinch weld drops lower right at the end of the back door, so it is closer there. I honestly just stuck my index finger in between the slider and pinch weld when i welded them on.

Thats a good price. Those are almost too long, but i doubt you will have any tire/slider interference.
and as for bolt on sliders, I am partial to weld on, but i also have access to a welder at any time. I know bolt on seems more convenient, but I dont know if a bolt on design is best for rock smashing.

I ordered the 66 inch DOM with kickout sliders from 4x innovations. Adam said they will be done in a few weeks, Haven't hard from him since... But anyways..
They seem like they will be perfect, I've heard lots of good things, I think the kickout will help with errant trees and the like.

I lean towards the TrailGear sliders since Elton & Brian2Sun have both reviewed them positively and they're inexpensive. But my question is do these, or any of the other models in particular, stick out far enough or have enough of an angle to be used as a step/running-board of sorts? My girlfriend is 5'5" & by the time I jack it up 5 inches & throw 35s on it she might need the extra help :lmao:
