I've been lusting after the Antman Storage Box for 1yr, is this the weekend?

So, I'm not a fan of the rear sliding tray. In 14 Months and 38k miles of ownership, I've rarely used the tray and would rather have a rear storage area like what Antman had created in his truck.

I think I'll finally knuckle down this weekend and knock this out (I've got a hardigg case that all of my stuff is stored in currently)

Do we have any recommendations or thoughts from the Peanut Gallery before I begin tear down and construction? Any consolidated parts lists from anyone that I might need?

I took a 10k mile roadtrip after returning from Afghanistan and then while living in KC I would travel down to my family in Texas every other weekend or so. I like to drive and my truck has been to 16 different states now.

Back to the topic at hand:

I think I have most of the hardware identified, however the pop rivets are going to be interesting to find. Wondering out loud if Toyota will have a cargo mat on hand.

I am 16 months and 49,700 miles, will have 50k by the weekend. Why have it if you are not going to use it?

Actually I use mine for work, I drive so much during the week, I hate to go anywhere when I am off.

I would like to do away with the sliding tray too, but am just too lazy to take on the project. Maybe when the weather cools off some.

You can get the snaps at home depot or Lowes, or nice stainless ones at West Marine.

Make sure you build version 2 with the 2 lids! Way better IMO!

Well it only took 3yrs for me to get this done

Also got a light bar installed. Picked up the mounts and switch from a user on here selling them. Everything worked great. Mounted the switch in the old party mode button position.

No I didn't. I've been working straight for the past few weeks. I took it to the shop to be done because I knew I wouldn't do it otherwise since I'm in an apartment temporarily.

But look at Antman's thread look at the few other threads and you'll get the idea.
