Also I really like your receiver light, definitely keeps it away from potential thieves and looks good. How's the light output?

THe light output is really good. that pod is brighter than the 4x4 led rigid pods. THey come in spot and flood. That one is a flood. 10 Watt cree leds really put out the light. I could maybe try and snap a photo

Was good meeting you at KOH (I was Matt's buddy). Hopefully I'll have mine ready for next year.

KOH was a good trip. Good meeting ya. I know you kept talking about a 4runner gotta get it going!. Then it can be all booty fabbed and ugly like mine!

Hahaha working on it, already ran it through 100yds of manzanita to add some texture to the paint for good measure...

Just saw this... Brilliant. I might just add this in to my receiver hitch and do just a simple plug and play with the trailer harness...

Interested in this as well. I need extra light for reverse and mounting one of these to a square tube to put into the trailer hitch would be a great idea. Could get power from the trailer harness and then just unplug and take it out if I ever need to put in an actual trailer hitch in for towing.

I just drilled and tapped a small hole on top of the receiver for an allen set screw to hold it in. So far I have had no problems with the set screw. I also drilled a dimple in the top of the light for the set screw to go into.

I thought about doing the same thing your talking about but it was too much work.

J-money$$$ could you send me a link to the light you got?

Thanks

Here you go.

LED pods by Vold LED - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

My buddy sells lights as a vendor on pirate. He hooked me up with all the Lights. I think that the company may have updated the housing some on the new single pods. THe last version I saw has cooling fins on the back and may have been a bit smaller overall. If you want some let me know and ill get you the info and measurements on the pods if your not a pirate member.

ticking tapping sound

i came across your post about that ticking tapping sound in the drivers side of the engine and was wondering what it ended making the noise? the post ended without a answer on what the cause was. My 3.4 is doing the same damn thing and i can't figure out what it is and neither can the mechanic that i brought it to since i gave up on it. thanks

Took the lock right out of the rear diff and put a spool in its place. Much much better. drives better, and way less slop in the drive train. Stock carrier was on its way out, had a carrier bearing spinning on the journal.

nice choice.

IMO, for the rear, if you cant have a selectable, the only other option is a spool.
