Jacking up vehicle using front diff ?

Can one lift up the front of their 4R with a floor jack under the front diff and not do damage, like one can do with the rear diff ?

My ride is a 2005 4R w/V8.
I lift and place jack stands under front frame rails now. Not planning to crawl under vehicle if OK to lift from the front diff.
Appreciate all comments. Thks.

You need and suppose to have the jack under the cross member, I wouldn't lift it placing the jack under the diff, it most likely wouldn't damage anything but it's not where it's supposed to be lifted from, if you still have the OEM skid plate installed it has reinforcement on it up to the cross member so you don't have to remove the skid plate to jack up the vehicle.

Your owner's manual has jacking points noted in it.

Thanks for the input, all. No jacking from the front diff, then. Best be safe than sorry.

Thought that lifting from a central point will save me from going one side and then the other dragging the hydraulic lift to get at the front rail's jacking points.
Getting lazy in my old age. lol.

If you put the jack under the front frame cross member and in the middle, you will be jacking up both sides at once, it's the same as if you were jacking at the diff only a little further back.
