Haha thanks man! It gets off road but not as much as I'd like. I'd kill for a chance to take it on some really fun trails like the ones in Colorado, Arizona and Utah. Maybe one day. At least it will be ready whenever I get the time to take it out west!

Thanks! That was definitely one of those random ideas that I had that ended up turning out way better than I expected. Those are always the best projects.

Also I'm not a fan of things just sticking onto the dash. If it's going to be there I want to make it look like it came that way. And I saw no way of doing that with the IBS controller, so I took the next best option!

I've always been on the fence about how to arrange my storage in the rear. Drawers are nice but I've never seen a setup that looked factory enough to motivate me to get them. Plus I kind of boxed myself in with my rear switch panel.

So I decided to go with something a bit more modular. I got three of these: North Face Base Camp Duffel. One small, one medium, and one large to hold all my gear. They are super high quality, and really hold a ton.

• The small bag has my recovery gear - basically a bunch of ARB stuff (winch extensions, tree protectors, tow straps, D rings, snatch block etc.)
• The medium bag is camping gear - tent, sleeping bag, cooking/hiking gear etc.
• The large bag is a a bugout and has pretty much everything but the kitchen sink.

The large bag always stays in the back, but the other two I can take in and out based on the trips I am taking. It helps keep space available and allows for expansion of my gear.

Those are great bags. I have a similar setup but with three 60L Patagonia Black Hole Duffels in the cargo area and one of the small North Face bags in the back seat full of stuff for my kids.

From a fellow DC native (Fairfax) to another, if you ever want to come explore CO/the rockies and need a place to set up base camp and brush a tooth, just say the magic word! My driveway can always use another 5th in it, especially one as pretty as yours.

You will be really happy with those. I've had a red Basecamp Duffel for over 10 years. That thing is pretty well bomb-proof.

The First Ascent Maximus 150 is pretty nice too (have one of those too), but that one I've only had for a short time so it still needs to prove itself.

Generally I feel North face is over-priced (of course it doesn't help that I get an employee discount at Eddie Bauer/First Ascent), but my Basecamp Duffel has been worth every penny.

Now go get some dirt on that thing! :bounce:

  I completely agree with you. The bags are expensive, but for the quality, it's definitely worth it. Good to here you guys have had them for so long and they're still holding up!
