Supposedly the nav-TV adapter takes up to two additional video inputs and outputs to a plug specific to the toyota camera plug. We will see! They claim it works for video input on my specific unit.

A few more teaser pics before pickup tomorrow morning! (This camera system is apparently a pain to install so it's drawn out the install a few extra days).
Side camera:
Interior trim finished and painted black. The silver turned out to be too much of a pain to match, so we converted everything to black.
Screen for camera system fabricated into lower pocket:
iPad mount finished! I'm amazed at how great this looks. It's very flush and almost looks factory. The paint was textured a bit to match the factory dash as close as possible.
Speakers are all in and the last thing being worked on is the fiberglass subwoofer enclosure in the rear. I will post another update this weekend when I finally get it back!

Hit some more delays with the camera system that pushed the pickup back again. Apparently Me and [MENTION=89562]bimrunner[/MENTION] own the very first two units of this system that have been sold! So we are the guinea pigs with this system. My installer had to call the company a few times to iron out all issues but has it all ready to roll now. That pushed the wiring of the sound back a bit, but things are moving again now!

Picked it up yesterday! Everything is awesome and I'm very happy with the result. I still have to calibrate the camera system (will probably do that this weekend), but everything else is good to go! I'm loving the iPad in the dash, it's so much easier than using any other head unit. I'll take some better pictures of the whole system later on.
Here is how the rear ended up. The floor is flush which I am really happy about - it won't effect carrying cargo at all.
This is the factory sub enclosure that has been heavily modified to accept a 10" Sub. It's been built out to increase depth (but still allows access to the power ports) and reinforced with fiberglass all the way around.
Cooling vents on the rear of the amp rack. It's all very low profile.
This system gets LOUD while not being too "boomy" and retains quality at volumes that no sane human should ever listen too. All told I'm very happy with how this ended up!

Just found out IVD posted some photos I've sent them on their site, Facebook, and Instagram. I'm amazed at the response. Brad from Icon actually contacted me yesterday and offered to send me some free gear to thank me for the response!
I sent them the picture to use for free so it's great they're stepping up and sending me some Icon gear as a thank you.

It depends on how you set it up. But the way I got it installed leaves basically no cons to doing this (in my opinion). I prefer the iPad's interface to pretty much any commercially available head unit as it's designed very well, and it runs extremely smooth. The touch screen is far and above most other devices as it uses a real glass front and a great capacitive touch screen (unlike the pressure sensitive touch screens used in most factory navs). I have the LTE version, so I can use a variety of maps apps (I'm currently using Waze and Google Maps) which gives you the added benefit of getting real time traffic updates. I can browse Pandora on a nice interface, even surf the web and watch youtube videos in traffic jams. Also I've got Dashcommand and the GoPoint OBDII BT1 bluetooth adapter set up so I can see real time gas milage and a million other stats about the truck. I can use the app remote feature of the sony head unit to listen to the radio or play CD's, and the surround view camera system shows up below the iPad on the in dash monitor.
All told I think it's a great setup and I am very pleased. It's definitely more complicated than stock, but to me it's worth it for the added functionality.

Just start looking up "iPad in dash" or iPad mini in dash" on google and youtube and you'll start seeing some awesome stuff.

I've been crazy busy recently, so I haven't had much time to document the finalized iPad, sound, and camera install details. I have the camera calibration kit sitting at home, and hopefully I'll get to that next week. Everything has been great and I promise I'll get some good pictures of everything up soon, as well as many more details and some videos about the surround camera system.
The one thing that I was only semi happy with was the lower dash screen. It was tucked a little far back so you couldn't see the whole screen without lowering your head, and the angle was straight ahead instead up tilted up a bit which made it difficult to see.
Because of that, I had it reworked a bit to pull it out, away from the dash, and angled up slightly. Now the angle of the screen is identical to the iPad's angle and is a million times easier to see.
Again, I'll get better, finalized pictures and details up soon!

Sorry Alex! I've been MIA for the past few weeks. I had to finish up with college (I now am officially a college graduate!), and am planning a move across the country in 4 weeks. I just got home this weekend where the bumper has been for the past few days.
The bumper took some damage during shipping and the powder coat has been damaged in 3 places. CBI has been great and has filed a claim with the shipping company and told me I'm good to get it powder coated again, and that the shipping company should cover it. So I have to find a place to get it powder coated again which may take a little while.
I'm probably still going to install it but I have had some second thoughts. I'm taking a three week road trip across the country to move to San Francisco in a few short weeks and I'm a bit worried about how it will effect my trip. I won't have time to test how it works with the stock ICON springs, and it will definitely effect my milage. While it would be nice to have in the city to protect against "bumper kissers" I'm not sure if it's necessary. Also I'm worried about some people saying a full size spare may not fit - which is obviously no buneo for a long trip, I'm still waiting to get final word on that. I'm definitely going to do some wheeling on the trip, but I'll be going out solo everywhere so I doubt I'll be into anything serious enough to risk bumper damage. Mostly over landing and scenic mountain trails. So I'm a bit stuck. I'm going to get it repowder coated and then reevaluate my priorities and either install it or put it up for sale.
I'm running short on time and am having to prioritize my final mods before I'm stuck in a tiny apartment in the bay area without my garage.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Tom nice to hear from you. I've have official finish graduate school too and know how it feels. I don't know if you wanna travel to Philly, because I have a great guy who powedcoated my full set of skid plates and you can hung out at my place, plus let me know if you need a hand with install on the bumper, I work on the weekend but during the week my schedule is flexible.
