JBA UCA Install Question

I'm in the process of installing a Boss 2.5 lift with JBA UCAs. First wheel is done and I found that after I torqued the ball joint stud to the spindle the hole for the cotter pin is below the slots on the nut. I sent a note off to JBA to inquire but thought I'd ask here as well. Thoughts?

As sent from JBA:

Mine was the same way. I added 2 thick washers as you can see and it works perfectly. I would be curious to see what JBA has to say about it though.

I had the same issue as well and had to add washers as well. Curious to see what your answer will be and your alignment specs.

I'd bet theyd be pretty good. Mine were great. They got my caster to 4/4.1 so I'm pleased with the UCAs.

Suppliers response was to add washers.

That would have to be my only complaint about JBA. They should have supplied the washers and should have been on install directions (I don't remember if there were any directions actually).

Agreed and I mentioned the same thing to him. 3 trips later to HD and I still don't have the right sized washers. Puke! M12 is too small and that's the largest HD carries. 5/8 should work but they only have that as fender so the OD is too big. For now I'm done; tomorrow is another day.

He also said they are switching to a Nylon Lock nut instead.

When did you buy these?

Did you end up getting the right size washer? What worked if so, 5/8? Just trying to be ahead of the game when mine get here this week.

In all honesty I don't remember the final size. Potentially yours will come with a different nut. I'd wait to see what arrives.

Well my question was completely irrelevant because, like you mentioned, I was supplied with a locking nut so no need/way to use the cotter pin. You are wise.
