JBL HU replacement help

Just picked up an 05 SR5 that has the 10 speaker JBL system installed. I am looking at replacing the HU to one with a screen for a backup camera. this is the only reason, i use my phone for directions if needed. I was originally looking at the OEM toyota NAVs (e7007, 8 or 9) but those are expensive for my sole purpose of having an integrated screen. Learned about the 2014 Scion FRS radio last night. Which leads to my quesiton:

How do I hook up a non-jbl OEM toyota stereo to my JBL system? What adapters do I need? I am not afraid to splice wires as long as there is a pinout diagram out there for this. (I am looking to only swap out the unit at this time. I know the JBL is considered crap, but I am going to roll with it for the time being)

You'll need the PAC TATO, PAC SWI (steering wheel interface) and possibly a line converter depending on which HU you use.

so i would need those (PAC TATO and SWI) if i am using an OEM non jbl radio to replace my OEM jbl radio? I thought those would be used for using an aftermarket radio to replace my jbl radio? or do i have this wrong?

you said you want back up camera. what are you going to use for a screen for the camera?

hoping to use a 2014 FRS scion/pioneer unit. seems like a cheap alternative to the OEM nav units. i only need a screen, could careless about the nav, so trying to do this as cheap as possible.

only issue is the FRS is not a jbl, so i need to figure out how to run a non jbl in my jbl equipped vehicle without changing the rest of the stuff out.

If you're looking at FRS screens, check out the scion pioneers, some of them work with the JBLs

It appears that PAC TATO unit requires RCAs in the back of the stereo, no? not sure that the FRS scion/pioneer units have RCAs.

you dont say! i am looking at PN PT546-00140 (Scion Pioneer unit w/o nav component). from my initial research, it appears to have the non-JBL plugs for the speaker outs, so I think i need an adapter.

im open to any suggestions you may have of an FRS screen radio that will work with my OEM JBL system that is cheaper than the OEM e7007, 8 or 9 units.

Yosh, did you ever find a solution. I have the FRS HU and did not realize I have the JBL synth system. (Did not say JBL on my head unit). Trying to find out if anyone has found a work around to get it to work. I have the 2014 FRS without RCA's

not so far. i dont feel like spending the 250-300 for a HU for a maybe. need to get some time and dig into the wiring diagrams and see if i can make my own custom pinned out harness. i would imagine it would work...
