Did you torque your control arm bolts with the tires on the ground? I didn't and I had noises just like yours. Then I loosened them and retightend with the tires on the ground instead of up in the air by the jack. Noise went away.

I'm going to do that this weekend. I've got new sway bar links and bushings coming in, so when I have the truck in the air I'll give that a shot. Thanks

I soldered all of the various button leds and HVAC leds with resistors...I didn't use plug and play leds.

(if you're replacing a filament light bulb then you need to add a resistor, if you are replacing an LED then you don't)(HVAC display{2 bulbs} run off of ~7volts...so you need a resistor)

EDIT: SOLDERING TWO BULBS TOGETHER LIKE BELOW DIDN'T LAST. SWITCHED TO ONE BULB AND A RESISTOR, THIS SETUP HAS BEEN RUNNING STRONG FOR 6+ MONTHS.

Rebooted my passenger side CV shaft with Toyota OEM boot kit from amazon:

I didn't feel like buying the tools to use the clamps provided in the kit so I used these hose clamps with a rounded edge to prevent them from cutting into my boots: McMaster-Carr

Wasn't very hard to do IMO...but I have taken it all apart before and I have a badass impact

Clear coated my headlights today.
Items used:
3m painter's tape
1500 grit 3m wet sandpaper
3000 grit 3m trizact sandpaper
USC spraymax 2k Glamour High Gloss clear coat: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0043B7UQY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
rubbing alcohol

Wet sanded with 1500 grit, then 3000 grit. Cleaned headlight with water. Let dry. Cleaned with rubbing alcohol. Let dry.

Sprayed 3 coats of clear coat. Flash time is 3-7 min, so I let the clear dry 4 min between each coat. I used a good paint mask because this clear coat has isocyanates(really bad for lungs) in it.

Turned out good. I will let them cure for 2 days, then use Meguiar's M105 and M205 to get rid of any light orange peel.

Rustoleum primed and bedlined some sport tube steps today and yesterday.
Came out pretty nice.

Did the 5th gen brake upgrade today on the fronts.
Centric calipers, rotors, stainless steel brake lines, and akebono pads.
Calipers painted with VHT caliper paint.

285/70/17 Duratracs
Initial impressions:
-drove them on the interstate up to 75mph and no balancing/vibration issues
(regular spin balanced, not road forced)
-not loud by any means, will see how they are once they get a little wear

I wasn't even looking at Duratracs due to their normal high price $1150 at discount tire direct. I found this set while browsing eBay. Discount tire sold these as used since they were previously mounted and returned. So far so good. I like them.

I installed a Kenwood DDX9903s Excelon with:
-Kenwood CMOS-22P backup camera
-2 USB cords routed to center console
-hdmi cord routed to center console
-microphone
-gps antena (for H/U's clock, date, and compass)
-urban runner double din trim
-ASWC steering wheel control
-RCA's for JL 500/1 on JL 10w3
Took me around 5.5 hrs
I really like the 9903s. It has the adjustable parking reverse lines for the backup camera, apple car play, inertial scrolling, phone mirroring with the HDMI input, the headunit has drastically improved the overall sound quality.

Also installed Metaltech LT rear kit stage 1 & rear caliper side SS brake lines (so now all 6 old rubber lines are switched out for SS)
Kind of have the stink bug look going now. I need to get some coilovers for the front.
EDIT: also ditched the rear sway bar..no noticeable difference without it

The swaybar relocator blocks didn't fix my 'thud' noise when backing out of my drive way with steering wheel turned. I think it might be coming from the stock skid plate hitting my swaybar, so I bent the lip of the skid plate back...we shall see.
Finally fixed my steering wheel misalignment by adjusting both tierods 2 flats. Now I can drive straight without a crooked steering wheel :reddance:

Does it really matter where the end of the spring is oriented as it sits in the lower perch? I know it needs to fit in the perch groove but do I need to have the end section of the spring facing outward? I'm wondering if the spring is compressing and knocking into my UCAs or something as I back out of my driveway...

Had the same problem with mine.... mine is hitting the skid plate and sway bar. Bent the hell out of my skid plate. Also hitting the the body mount. Truck looking good man.

I think my thud problem ended up being fixed by torquing the LCA camber bolts down to around 110 ft-lbs. It was driving me nuts in the summer with my windows down!

I bought my sway bar relocation blocks from some guy on eBay selling his ICON blocks. You may be a be able to do a WTB on here since guys like to remove their front sway bars.

Glad you had a good time! Enabling other people to get out there and enjoy the trails in our area is exactly what we're trying to do with Outbound Overland.

We just finished a family/kids trip this weekend and will be cutting the video/pics over the course of this week. We'll be uploading the track we followed at some point in the near future as well, but some of it overlaps with the A&SOT.

Awesome! We just updated the route between Wardensville and GRSF. The new route has two more river crossings.

Installed Focal IS 690TOY speakers in the front doors.

Installed Focal AS3 woofers in the rear doors.
The magnet is a lot larger than stock.

Installed a Precision Power i520.4 under the passenger seat to power the front and rear door speakers. (4ohm....4x100 watts)

I moved my JL 500/1 amp from being mounted in the rear cargo area to under my driver's seat.

Everything sound great. Now I just have to wait on JL to send my subwoofer back from being repaired. I blew it last month. The 500/1 is a little too much for the 10w3. I might upgrade to the 10w6 down the road.

Demello Offroad ran 20% off bumpers and sliders at the same time a few weeks ago and I couldn't resist!
I bought the demello single hoop and their bolt-on sliders.
I got them both powder coated locally.
Picked up a warn m8000 from craigslist, it needed a new solenoid.
Got a synthetic winch line from the guys over at Southeast Overland, it came braided with the factor44 thimble.
Also installed a Odyssey Battery, extreme 34.

Slowly but surely converting everything to white LEDs.

What LEDS are these in the controls? Look like they have the fewest hot spots of any I've seen. Looks awesome!
