I've looked and I haven't really found anything regarding permits other than for special events and races. Only thing I did find mentioned to apply 180 days in advance. Kinda too late for that. I still expect a lot of people to drop.

I get back into SoCal that Friday, but I think I'd be down for scouting on the 18th if you'll let just anyone tag along. I'm moderately well equipped.

We're at 8 rigs right now for the scouting trip, but one guy hasn't responded yet. If he drops I'll shoot you the info. At this point I'm trying to keep it a small group for ease of mobility so we can check certain areas out quickly.

If it matters, I've got CB and I recently purchased a handheld ham radio that I haven't used yet. Pretty well equipped for recovery too.

I apologize ahead of time because I didn't read all the details of the thread. But I'm very familiar with this area. Me and my family grew up going out here for the last 25 years. Mostly on the left side of the highway off sunfair.

We're scouting out the BLM land off gold crown for spots to park large groups this weekend. Hoping to find something a little further off the main roads and attractions.

I have several perfect places that we could all camp and have no ranger issues. Just depends how far off the beaten path you want to be and where.
The place I know of is off sunfair near copper mesa mountain.
I may even be able to secure some private property so that there wont be any chance of BLM or ranger issues. Or we could camp on the flats on the other side of the mountain.
If you plan to camp in Jtree park, you may need passes and with a group this large you may run into other issues with BLM.
When are you headed up for the scouting?

We're scouting Sat morning the 18th. I'd love to pick your brain on locations. Until I get confirmation from everyone we're roughly at about 65-70 rigs. Not even going to attempt camping in JTNP with that amount so we'll be sticking to BLM land for sure.

Might do a one nighter from 3/18 to 3/19. I'll be with at least 10 other tacomas/4runners if we go (none of us on either the t4r or TW list).
