The plan was Friday morning trying to be out there as early as possible to maybe get a good run in before settling into camp, like 8 or 9am. But I'm flexible on that pending on everyone's plans as well as yours. What day/time were you heading out

Edit: I wanted to enter the park via Berdoo with the guys from TW but wanted to get a earlier start than 4pm

Since I announced this on TW, I'll go ahead and announced it here as well. As a little incentive to tool around instead of hanging out at camp all weekend I'll probably do some sort of poker run type thing. 5 bucks a head, best hand takes 50%, 2nd takes 30%, 3rd takes 20%. I'll give you coordinates to 5 individual mines. Find the mines, take a screen shot of the coords on your phone/gps, come report back to me that you were there. I'll have 1 deck of cards per mine (5 individual decks) Nothing hairy, 2wd doable.

So what's the deal with the fee to get in the park. I know the ways we will be entering the park no one will be there to enforce it. Will we be hassled or the rangers just assume anyone in the park has already paid. Seems pretty trivial but I'm just curious

If you exit any of the northern routes (other than dirt) there are pay booths you have to drive through. If you don't have the pass, you'll have to pay. I want to say you're supposed to have it on your dashboard so any rangers can see it, but short of being pulled over for something else I doubt you'll be hassled. The rangers are spread thin these days and they'll be busy with the campgrounds and visitor centers.

Getting worried my lift wont show up in time. Ordered mid Feb, but i hear Icon is getting backed up. They gave me a 3 - 4 week window which expires on Wed. Hopefully it makes it, but if not ill be Bummed! was looking forward to having it for this trip.
