The 3.0L Turbo diesel engine has some advantages over the 3.0L petrol variant available here in the UK.
1) More mpg 27mpg vs 20mpg - therefore better fuel ecconomy.
2) More torque 220ft/lbs vs 177ft/lbs - therefore better offroad since the peak power is in the low (2000rpm) range.
3) Possibly most important for mud plugging- there's no HT electrical system to get wet. A diesel engine will happily run in the most damp conditions- no worries about damp distributer or spark plugs
We pull stalled petrol engine cars out of here every time!
