Thanks man! Also, i am looking at the Ham radios on amazon and just wondering if i need to get a license to use it, or do we use unrestricted channels?

Are you supposed to have a license to own and operate one ..yes. Do I unfortunately not ...but am I going to yes just need to start studying first.
I'm more about safety and having a clear line of communication with everyone in our group.
So if I was to get busted for that ..then so be it.
Also I don't use my radio any other time but our monthly trail runs after that it's off and put away til the next run.

Hey guys can I make a suggestion? If you're planning on starting at the Crab Flats OHV entrance why not meet at the parking area next to Green Valley Lake. There's plenty of room, a general store for last minute items, restrooms, and we can take a shorter and more fun route down to 3N16.

Also, I have a couple extra bedrooms and live alone so there's plenty of room if anyone wants to come up Friday and go for a quick sunset cruise after some burgers on the grill - just hit me up if you're interested.

Does anyone know where the study materials are for a HAM license test?

There's only one bad part about that idea...being my chick is the one to make the comment to me...I'm in the Palm Springs area and it can be damn hot..lol. I'm use to it and sweating my ass off while wrenching on my rigs but it can be miserable for some..lol.
My house is great spot for mod party plenty of space for rigs but my garage doesnt have a/c but I do have a big as portable swamp cooler out there and some fans...my house is a/c and cold. There is a massive pool and pool area in our country club just down the corner from me to take a dip in...and another thing is there's tons of trails in my back yard ..literally and fire arms are permitted as well .we could go run a trail or two before or after.

BUT...it is summer time in Palm Springs average 105-110 degrees last couple weeks and hanging outside under hot rigs ...well it's hot. Lol

Just wanted to put that out there.

I may take you up on the extra bedroom and sunset cruise for my son and I this time around! Depends on if I can get out of work half day that day or not.

I could do the 24th for a Mod day. Drop the kid off at his mom's in the morning in Highland, cruise to Palm Springs for the day, grab him on the way home.

I was thinking the weekend 16-17 depending on when I get my gearS and bearings which looks like this week. I most likely need 2 days due to the complexity of the mod, just in case. I'll bring an ice cold 28 degree fridge full of beer. Corona's and limes anyone? Great for 120 degree mod days to go along with the asada!

If it was my rig I wouldn't be drinking and eating with my buddy's during that project.
I say rear end 16-17 or whenever day you wanna pick I will make myself available for that day ... but I wouldn't do that during a mod party.

Your so right Miah. I've been doing research and this mod is complex. There's measuring backlash, markings, shims...dang I'm all confused. This weekend sounds good. Hope I get the gears this week and let you know...most likely sunday. THEN I'LL COME FOR THE MOD PARTY THE WEEKEND AFTER!!! HEHE!!
