I thought you were going to have all the black plastic painted to match the rest? Did I miss a post where you chose not to do that?

Just the flares were going to be painted silver.I originally thought the side flares from the Limited and Trail were the same with the exception being the Limiteds were painted body color.
Not the case. They are completely different in shape and texture.The Limited are smooth and the TE's are sort of pebbled or textured look.They don't mix.That is what took so long as they had to go back and order them all as that wouldn't do and one of the rear door flares was on backorder. By the time it came in I already had the bumper covers painted and waiting so the flares did'nt get painted.
Maybe I'll have them painted sometime down the road as they come off real easy with bolts along the edge and some plastic clips thru the sheetmetal.Right now ,I'm liking the contrast even though the black sure shows dirt compared to the silver.

I dont know when I will be getting the 4runner. It has to be special ordered because I want the 3rd row seat. Dealers around here like to play games, so dont know when I am gonna get a good deal or (or not). In any case getting all mods lined up. I will be getting headlights soon and cracking them open for the TSX projectors. We ll see how that goes. Got a brand new 5 set of FJ rims this weekend for 450. I am being patient for right deal. I refuse to pay anything more than a few hundred over invoice at most. I could of got one about 200 over invoice in early jan, but didnt get a chance to go to dealer - just my luck:crybaby:

They do look sweet but I have some other mods that are more pressing at the moment.Like a Warn winch ,new Pioneer Nav. and wider mud tires/rims.
Thanks T4Fun! I'm going to hold off on the TE headlights for now as some other mods have precedent.Besides ,I would have to take the front bumper cover back off to change the headlights and that's getting old.Let me know how it goes with the TSX projectors.I put some PIAA extreme super white H11 bulbs in the headlights and it made a huge difference over stock bulbs.Good luck on finding a Runner and you have alot more patience then me!

I work nights so maybe next weekend. I'll put a stock one back in on one side and take a pic of them shining on my garage door. The fogs on the 5ths take the same halogen h11 bulbs as the headlights where the 4th Gens. had 9006 bulbs in the fogs.

Just my own observation, but yours the way its dressed, and trail editions in general I suppose, can seriously pull off that mast antenna. On the limited its definitely re****ed of Toyota to do it. But, on yours, I think it adds character. Its the little things, and I think it enhances the look your going for. Just MHO.

Wow that would be amazing thanks a lot! New headlights will probably be my next purchase. After putting in the new LEDs on the inside I feel sad when I turn on the headlights... haha look forward to the pics and thanks again!

Funny you mention the antenna.The one that's on there now is a 14 inch antennaX.It's got to go!I bought a hideaway antenna,like all the custom cars use, AMPLIFIED HIDE AWAY ANTENNA*::*ANTENNA CABLES AND PLUG*::*ANTENNA ADAPTERS & ACCESSORIES*::*Dash Kits Harnesses*::*AUTOTOYS
to hook up and hide up under my windshield wiper cowling.I was in the fender with the antenna and was going to completely remove it, however it is massive under the fender with a bunch of braces and the wires going to it were not a regular antenna lead,just wires. Looks bigger then a powered antenna. I shot some pics of it in the fender if somebody's interested and will post them later. It looks like I might have to remove the fender to take it off.I'll wait til I hook up my new nav which takes a regular antenna connector to tackle it.

Looks great. On the reveal photos, I didn't know what I was looking at. SR5, that's not it. TE, that ain't it. Limited, could that be it.
Is the bumper color a little off or it's just the lighting in the pictures? The direct shot of the rear the color looks perfect. I noticed on some 4th gens the flares and cladding paint looks to be a bit off from the sheet metal under certain lighting.

Nice work harper7. You've built a 5th exactly how it should have been built. Take the ammenities of a Limited, the look of a Trail Edition and the wheels from an SR5...glad to someone finally do this. :bigok:

The only difference in the look of the Trail and the 4 cyl. is the Trail has 2extra add on black pieces,one in the front and one in the rear, that clip on to the front and rear covers thru holes. You can see them in my pics.

Just double checking but you are still only lifted with the spacer in the front right? With the TE body parts it gives the appearance your truck is lifted all around.
After seeing the one TE with the 3/2 lift i think i am heading that way since it would make the truck look perfect with the SR5 body pieces.

That....and the bumpers are painted to match the rest of the 4R, only the wheel flares are black on 4cyl. From what I can see the 4cyl is only offered in black and silver (at least in my zip it is).
