Your BFG 275-70-R17 AT TA KOs

I have a 2010 4Runner TE. I have a few of questions regarding your BFGs.

1. Is there any rubbing issues with them when you didn't have the lift installed? Based on LWNs pictures there may be more room for them on the TE. I don't have the money to do a lift at the moment.

2. How loud are they running down the highway? We have a trip from MD to FL and back so that is why I am asking.

3. Did you change your spare as well? If so, did it fit where the stock spare is from the factory?

I really want these tires but, I need to make sure you don't think I will end up having to trim the fender-wells.

I had the 275/70/17 BFG AT KO's on before the lift and there was no rubbing at all. Very close to the front inner liner at less then a 1/4 inch but no rubbing.

Most AT or Mud tires are louder then highway tires. I mean the BFG AT's are not loud enough that you can't converse with somebody in your truck or anything. The hum is sweet music to me!

No , my opinion is if your going up a size or 2 I don't think you'll have a problem.I hav'nt tried it but I will before I go on a long trip this summer. Easy to do,just throw the spare on and ride around Now if you gonna put 35's on...I'd expect a problem.

I really want these tires but, I need to make sure you don't think I will end up having to trim the fender-wells.You won't have to trim the fenderwells with BFG's in 275/70/17's . Just so you know....The do have alot stiffer, truck like ride then the stock tires though.

Bridgestone Revo 2's and Firestone Destinations AT's are AT tires that are not as noisy and more road complient then knobby AT tires.

Thanks for the information. This is the first time ever that I am swapping out the stock tires that came on the vehicle that is why I have so many questions.

I am pretty positive that I am going with the BFG 275-70-R17 AT TA KOs. Can I please ask three more questions?

1. If I order a 5th tire for the spare, do you think it will fit where the spare tire goes underneath the truck?
2. Did the wider tire affect you turning radius?
3. How is the ride of the vehicle with the "E" load-rated tire. Is it going to be to harsh for my trip from MD to FL and back?

P.S. The Bridgestone's and the Firestone's don't have enough of an aggressive tread pattern for me.

i would personally get a bridgestone dueler revo 2 or michelin ltx 2. BFG tires ive had in past dont last long for whatever reason, and they are rated much lower on tirerack for a/t tires

harper. do you happen to have the part numbers for the roof rack rails on the trail edition? I want to replace those ugly chrome roof racks on limited. If its too much money, i may just paint them

No, You'll have to call your parts dept. Get the part numbers and then ToyotaPartSales.com
Looks like they take different bolts too from the other post on them. The 8 bolts that hold them down.

Did you ever get your TE headlights?

I presume the roof rails are interchangeable betweend the sr5/limited and trail right? Same length, bolt pattern, etc?

headlights still on order. so is the 4runner. Just ordered the 6 spoke hypersilver 18 x 7.5 inch rims as well as all black emblems.

There was a thread on here where someone removed their TE rails. You could try to buy them used from that person. It was within the past week.

I think you will be just as happy with the 265/70/17's and no problems with spare or anything. My 2 cents.

Roof rail pattern should be the same.
I bought a tire today as my rims came in yesterday. That's right a tire as in one.I'm going to test fit it tonight or else I can take it back . It's a BFG MT KM2 in size 305/65/17 with the AR Teflon Mojave wheel in 17x8.
Pics in the garage...gotta go to work now though!
The second pic is an illusion that it is that big. Only 1/2 inch bigger then a 275.

Roof rail pattern should be the same.

part supplier asking for VIN for trail edition roof rails order. excuse me, but what the .... i should be allowed to order anything i want. ITs a free country! If i want to order trail edition parts, i will order them. Is there some law forbidding one to do so? Harper did you have this kind of issue. (oh by the way, and thats after I have ordered the trail edition lights, which still are not here -:confused:)

I did over the phone a few times with a lazy or possibly nitwitted parts person named Bubba if I recall.They are in the business of selling parts,Just some of them only know how to look parts up with a VIN. I went there and asked to speak directly with the parts manager and he was shocked they didn't want to sell me parts unless I had the VIN. If your just looking up the part number,act like you don't have the money now but you want the estimate and the part number so they don't have to look it up again.Give them time and they'll have the whole parts manual online like the 4th Gens.
We're talking BIG money selling parts!

Your TE headlights...... Now you see the frustration I had to go thru to get my TE parts direct from Japan. They seriously come by boat, a slow boat at that. Gives "slow boat from China" a whole new meaning!

i actually emailed some guy at trd named scott and he asked for vin. We'll see what happens tomorrow. I went to ebay and got a vin off a TE. .
