Well looks like I'm going to change my vote to the 26th. Just remembered I have a wipeout run on the 25th that I paid for a while back. But I will meetup Sunday for those that are camping.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to where to camp the night before the run? I'm not familiar with the area would love a bit of guidance.
You can actually camp anywhere on the entire property of pappy and Harriets in PioneerTown there property is many acres and has all the old western movie props and old western town still there, if you don't wanna be to far from starting point. Or camp at Black Rock Camp in Joshua Tree really nice spot many videos on it and references. it's about a 20-30 min drive to starting point Or camp in pipes canyon in pioneer town or in Johnson valley right down the road these places you just pick it and kick it wherever.
Oh man, this looks awesome but just my luck I'll be fishing up at mammoth. I look forward to other offroading meetups. Will there be another this summer?
Nope this will be the last one.
The last one except for the one in July, and the one in August, and probably one in September....
The last one except for the one in July said:Haha...it's like have you seen or atleast read any of the posts and thread titles?
If not then you get Miah's I don't have time for "not stupid" but stupid question, short dicky answer and response.
But funny for you guys that know the real answer. Lol
That's HELLA FUNNY! I almost fell off the couch laughing! Classic Miah and Danny reply! As Miah would say, "Genius"!
Actually first time I've seen the regional clubs forums below all the sponsor forums. But good to dickish answers are what await. Sorry I asked.
Don't take it seriously, we're all here to have fun. Sad thing is that the regional forums are so far down that most of the forum aren't aware of them. I've actually pointed them out to people before and they were like wtf? Just keep an eye on the section, Oneluv13T4R been doing a hell of a job trying to keep the meets on point while TheSentinel is doing the school thing. If it wasn't for this section and the people in them I never would have ventured out nearly as much as I have in the last 8 months. Nothing but a great group of people here.
No worries. I'll be on the lookout for July and August meets. Thanks!
Well this looks fun, sorry I've been MIA for a bit. Haven't had much time to plan anything.
Once you meet me you'll understand, it's all in fun. I haven't left anyone out that's on here from a dickish comment.
And by the way Welcome to the SoCal board, hope you can make it out to the next meet and run in July,August,September etc etc. Do you see a pattern yet? We run every month no matter season or weather and have one hell of a time doing it. Good for family and children always.
And if you don't have one already do yourself a favor and pick up a radio for comms on the trail it helps all of us. A cheap Baofeng handheld is 30 bucks or there best one is 60 bucks. Amazon or eBay
Hope to see you on the trails soon
Miah

I'm not sure how different if is on our rigs but I've done some recovery from a firetruck multiple times if needed I'm pretty comfortable helping others. I only have a tow strap tho.Well this looks fun, sorry I've been MIA for a bit. Haven't had much time to plan anything.
let's skip the frs radio thing. I don't think anyone was using just an frs radio last run. Everyone was using cb or ham. We need to consolidate our communication since that seems to be a big issue in the past, but worked well last run after everyone switched their radios to 146.460 ham frequency. Those little baofeng radios are almost cheaper than the actual 2 way frs radios you can buy at the store, so they are more than worth it.
I'll program the routes into my gps if you need me to run a team through, but i think with only a few hard sections that may need spotting we should be fine with a larger group. We need to to spread out people with good comunication and recovery gear throughout the group. Also a tail gunner with with a gps of the route and a good radio. Anyone who has recovery straps and knows how to use them (some of us got a lot of practice last run)please speak up so everyone knows. Anyone who has recovery straps and doesn't know how to use them please come see me at the meeting location for a brief rundown on safety.
This is going to be much higher elevation so everyone bring extra water. You will dehydrate faster at higher elevations. Especially those who are running up and down hills to help people or take photos.
No worries. I'll be on the lookout for July and August meets. Thanks!
