On Wednesday I went to my local dealership to try to get them to replace the front headlight lens that were hazing (I had the TSB I got from t4r.org :thanks
The dealership had to get a "goodwill" from their manufacturer to fix the problem because the vehicle was out of warranty at 36020 miles, just barely over. My maintenance light was also on so I thought it would be a good time for an oil change as well, my extended Toyota Care covered that expense so I pretty much didnt have to pay anything, although I had to leave my vehicle there overnight so they could do the headlights.
The next morning I get a call from the dealership trying to up-sale me by saying my throttle body and carburetor had a lot of carbon build-up and they had a coupon to clean it for $180, but I knew what they were doing so I said "maybe next time" plus I'm not experiencing any symptoms of carbon build-up in the throttle body so maybe I could put it off for now.
An hour later when I arrived to pick up my truck, I checked out the headlights and everything seemed great, so on my way I went. It was pretty warm when I picked up my truck around noon (Can't beat that SoCal weather) so I decided to turn on th AC. That's when I heard an unfamiliar noise I'd never heard before when I had the AC on. The noise was coming from inside the glove compartment, and it sounds almost like the noise a laptop/pc fan makes, just barely loud enough to notice it. I was parked in a target parking lot next to a busy street when this happened, so you can get the idea of how loud it was when I noticed it
Am I just paranoid because I just got my truck back and I'm on the lookout for these things or has there always been this noise but I've never heard it before? Can anyone tell me if they can hear anything from their glove compartment besides the sound of air blowing when their AC is on?
