I just pulled the trigger on a 2000 Limited 4x4 v6 AT at $7000 with 50k on the odometer. I'm excited and can't wait to test it out on the snow when the time comes...

one question, what does the Toyota and the Limited emblems mean when it is in gold instead of in silver on the car?

thanks

Congrats on the purchase ad the emblem color means nothing. Just different colors im pretty sure.

Congrats on such a low millage 2000! As far as the gold emblems go, it was just an extra cost option. Some gold packages were put on at the port and arrived at the dealerships already optioned out with it, others were put on later by the dealer as an "accessory."

oh good to know - and also one more question,

what does it mean when the steering wheel is different color like a darker shade/tone color than the horn (the middle section)? is there any reason for a different color or possibly whoever had it changed the wheel from the original one and replaced with a different one?

That is odd. The steering wheel should be oak for a Limited or black for the SR5/Sport. If the wheel and airbag are of different colors, then the truck was in some sort of accident I would assume. Its weird that they would not have at least replaced the airbag with the correct color part.

Congrats man thats really low miles and very cheap.

Yea mine was in an accident and on the passenger side its the same thing the airbag cover is just a little different than the rest of the interior

I suggest posting a photo, both of this you've mentioned and the truck

:iagree:

Congrats on your newly acquired T4R and welcome to the forum...

but yeah with the steering wheel question you had, it would help us a lot if you posted a pic so we could help you out. :)

will post pics later, thanks for the quick responses. by the way it is just the driver side steering wheel different color than the middle/horn, the middle/horn is the same color as the rest of the interior - the passenger side airbag is fine- didn't notice any color variances, and when i test drove it - the alignment was straight.

I think I will look into replacing the steering wheel to a new one just the outer round piece and not the interior horn/middle section - anyone know if that's easy to do? or should I just simply look into getting a steering wheel cover...

again - I am excited about this 4runner purchase, and can't wait to post pics soon~

i'll keep you guys updated..

Sounds like maybe the leather is worn out? My tan leather steering wheel is starting to turn dark and really show signs of wear from grease, dirt, ect that gets in contact between your hands and the wheel. Can't tell for sure until you post up some picks. Sounds like a nice find though.
