Just picked up a 02 Sport. Bought it with a Bad Motor, what do you think?

Found this beauty with a bad motor and a recently installed jasper transmission with a 6month warranty.I paid $3,000. The body and interior are flawless. This might be a stupid question but do all sports have the TRD package? I have looked through a bunch of build threads and lifting options. I was thinking about doing the tundra springs given that we have 2 sets sitting in our yard(Salvage Yard). Having a little trouble finding the Cruiser springs. Any thoughts or advice will be appreciated. The white runner is my sisters. I really like the wheels and the size of lift, but i dont want it to be exactly the same.

There is no such thing as a TRD package for the 4Runner.

Good to know. I keep seeing trd stickers and just figured they offered a package.

Put a brand new engine it for about $5000 and you have basically a new 2002 sport for $8000.
Sounds like a good deal to me.

I don't think you could have gotten a better price, although I don't know of another 4runner where the motor and tranny have bit the dust so close together in time.

According to the sticker, it looks to be a Virginia 4runner.

@ 3,500 with a motor... We have access to just about any used parts in America. I found a motor locally(already purchased) with 117k, 2 month warranty. I will update tomorrow how it runs! Excited. I have a 98 black runner forsale in classif. With kinda high miles if anyone is interested.

Another note- if anyone needs any parts even random let me know , we have 4-6 4runners, tacomas, tundras ect.

Thats a great looking truck. I was just thinking today that I'd like to hopefully stumble across one with a bad motor/tranny for cheap and just fix it. Preferably just rebuild the current one for a project. Sounds fun.

Thanks. I was really supprised how clean it was when it came in. I cant wait to actually lift it. So many options I really dont know what to go with. Really want to find some leather seats too.
