Just picked up a Tuff Stuff 6' x 8' awning

The other day I picked up a "Tuff Stuff" 6 foot awning from a local offroad shop in Santa Ana, Ca. Cost me $225 cash and took about 30 min to install on my Drabbits roof rack. Going to test it out this weekend. Here are the pics so far.

It comes with these L brackets to mount the awning to your rack or RTT. I initially used hose clamps to get it up there, then switched to pipe straps and bolts for a more secure fitting.

The 6 footer fits the 4runner perfectly.

It came with a bag of nuts/bolts/10mm wrench and rope to tie down the vertical support poles.

Here you can see the awning is 6 feet long and 8 feet wide.

The horizontal support poles are stored up in Awning's main support structure. The vertical support poles are stored in the main beam that rolls out to the outside.

Here it is all stretched out.

Looks good, been researching awnings. Why didn't you use washers, nuts, and bolts to mount to the rack? I'm still leaning towards an ARB, although not sure why other than giving them my money to help support other product development for 4runners (snorkel, lockers)

I didn't use washer/nuts/bolts because I didn't want to drill through my powder coated rack. Going around the support bars on my rack seemed like a stronger option than just bolting it through the metal mesh floor. I picked up this awning because it was local, cheap, and I wanted it for an upcoming camping trip.

The order for the first batch of Safari Snorkels are on order. We hope to receive them late this year/early 2016.
