I have to say, I think my 4r has a pretty comfortable on road ride. Im guessing if I replace my rear springs, itll only get better. Sure over huge bumps it bobs a bit, but overall Id say its a very comfortable, firm, controlled ride.

Yeah, I know I like my ride too, I was writing that because there are guys here who uninstalled their lifts cuz they were too stiff... Im like "its a 4runner... hello!! if you need a soft ride, buy a lexus or camry!"

Gotcha brotha and Id probably agree. If youre going to start modifying your truck to me more off roadworthy, you have to expect that with every off road gain, youre going to have an on road loss. These are trucks, not car based CUVs. And thats how I like it :soapbox:

Well after looking at my posted pic I did some measurements because the front sure looked lower than the back. Then I did some reasearch on the site here and found out that TOYTEC SCREWED UP when they mailed my parts to me. When I spoke to the guy on the phone I told him I wanted to lift it 2 inches and to send me the appropriate parts. Well he should have mailed the 906 coils but mailed 890 (3 inch coils) instead. Now my truck has a rake!!! :gun4: Toytec is sending the new part to me to now raise the front one more inch with spacers but I think now my tires are going to look to small. They should have sent the right part in the first place!!!
To say the least I am pissed with Toytec. They would not exchange out the 890's with the 906's. It was their mistake not mine!!!!!! They wanted to sell me new 906 coils as if it had been my fault.
I figured I would rant here and maybe they would call me (909) 797-0201. Jen said she talked to the BOSS man but he wouldnt budge.
TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT....IF YOU ARENT MECHANICALLY INCLINED and are trusting a person making minimum wage to get your order correct DONT. TOYTEC SHOULD MAKE THIS RIGHT AND THEY ARE NOT!!!!!!!
Not to mention I am going to have to shell out another $75 BUCKS to a mechanic to put the front spacer on!

Man that's really lame why would they tell you to put a spacer up front? does not makes sense that's not what you wanted, 2" not 3". Toytec gets an F for that. I was gonna get my parts from them cause they are closer (shipping/time). to me but I'm just gonna go with Wheelers off road instead, they treated me good in the past
Are your tires stock size 265/70 or 265/75?

I couldnt believe it when Toytec wouldnt provide any type of customer service!!! They said well we cant do anything with used coils so we can sell you the 906's at half price for $180. You gotta be kidding me I am going to pay for their mistake. they just dont get it!!!

Wow man, sorry to hear that. I've had other vendors do similar to me in the past and it's infuriating. That's enough for me to know not to buy from them in the future either.

I don't understand? 906 coils at half price does not= $180. They are only $169 on their website to begin with, how is $180 half price?

I'm not particularly thrilled with toytec either. I got my lift from them, but I got incorrect advice at first so I did my own research and luckily I ordered the correct coils for my needs. I told them about their mistake (which was incorrect info/descriptions/weight ratings for the OME coils on their website) and they did correct the bad info quickly.

You could leave it, but if that isn't what you were going for, you have a right to be pissed especially for the amount of $$ you spent. It sounds like Toytec just doesn't believe you. If that's the stand point they want to take, then I guess they'll have to deal with unhappy customers like yourself sharing their bad experiences online and persuading others to stay away from toytec. Maybe Ric will see this (he seems like a good guy) and hopefully he can help you.
I was debating on getting the same kit Masson wanted and thanks to his issue I now know where I won't be getting my kit from. Hope everything works out Masson.

I apologize you feel the way you do about our company.
After looking into this the information I got was you ordered over the phone and gave the person the part numbers....May be that information is incorrect, I don't know not all of our phone sales people are experts either, it depends what option you push when you call the office. It is stated on our website and information is also available on ARB's website about the average lift of the OME coils.
You leave out some important information in your post. I think Jenn was reasonable and trying to work something out with you considering the circumstances.
We didn't give you a price of $180.00 for another set of coils.
We offered to sell you coils at 1/2 price. With a discount that works out to like $80.00 with shipping. Don't you think you could sell the used 890 coils for $80.00?
How is Toytec trying to work something out with you worthy of a post like yours?
I find it just ridiculous someone would add to the thread they are not going to buy from any company based on ONE forum post!
Come on guys! We are reasonable people and we always try to keep our customers happy.
I wouldn't spend time posting here if that wasn't the case.

Derrick I guess I was expecting you to take back the coils and then you sell them. Or that you send the spacer at half cost. What I was saying is that no matter which way you look at it I am still out some money because one of your people didnt explain the differences in the coils. Not everyone is mechanically minded. I told the guy on the phone that I wanted a 2 inch lift PERIOD!. I guess I will now see what the 3 inch looks like.
Anyways one last question. Mechanically speaking is there any downside to keeping it the way it is now? Also do spacers wear out faster than the shocks? I am not familiar with these things. Will it ride different with the spacers (ie bumpier)???
I have a business of my own and have eaten profits to make it right and keep a customer.....just saying!

Seems like I keep getting conflicting information, I thought you told Jenn some female in the office took your order? Guess that doesn't really matter at this point, we will work something out with this. We don't normally sell used parts and shipping coils is not cheap due to the weight, that is why they offered a set at half price. The decision is not mine I am not the boss!
Let us know what you decide you want to do, if you want to swap out the coils or lift the front more. Leaving it like it is now isn't going to hurt anything on the vehicle either.
The spacers do not change the ride they are just a small plate that goes on top of the coil/shock assembly, they do not wear out they are made of aircraft aluminum.
I will not be in the office tomorrow but I will update everyone there. You can also email [email protected] if you have questions or if you decide what you want to do. We only check the forum messages once a day normally so faster replies would be through email, we have people checking those all day long.
