Was debating over getting a CAI and after reading through this forum about how they dont do squat for power. For 234.00 I think its worth it to clean up the engine bay and give a little more grumble. Just thought id share this deal. After. Install was easy truck definitely runs smoother have had it installed for 2 days now with about 60miles.

I was running a AFE dry drop in filter prior to installing the K&N intake system.

with apologies to the dead horse... but the thing about that K&N is that it replaced your sealed OEM intake (which truly drew cold air—from the fender well) with an open design that instead draws hot air from within the engine compartment. replacing the OEM unit's baffles and resonators with a straight tube design is surely an improvement, though.

in any case, if you're happy with it that's all that matters.

Well the original intake box was no Cold air intake and neither is the K&n system but it has more open space to collect air from either it be warmer or colder it's still added air.

But I don't want to piss off the intake guru's so yeah Toyota engineers know best I just ruined there OEM cold air intake box.
Hahahahaha just kidding had 230.00 bucks burning a hole in my pocket and I'm glad I got the K&N looks good would do it again.

K&N does make a CAI for our 4Runners but as long as your happy is all that counts in the long run.
