K&N AirCharger and the Factory Warranty

I'm sure someone who understands supercharger technologies could explain better - but, just like any other engine components, it should be just fine - as long as you let your engine warm up before straining it.
Thai's posted alot of good links on superchargers here.
Many manufacturers put out cars from the factory with superchargers. (I think Toyota ought to put out some 4 Runners with the s/c as an option).
Basically, the cold should have no effect on the S/C.

Getting back to the original subject of this thread. I've spoken with the local dealer and I've received a response from K&N regarding the warranty issue. The service manager says there is no issue with replacing the air filter or intake. (Although I'm not certain that he understands exactly what the AirCharger mod involves.) In general, the service manager stated that mods might void the part of the vehicle that the mod pertains to and he did say that if the mod causes a failure, then the failure will not be covered by the warranty. I would think if the air filter failed to filter out larger particles or if system was installed improperly and caused a failure that the dealer would have trouble covering the repairs under warranty.
As far as K&N goes, I received an email response from them. I would like to post the response, but there is a disclosure statement on the message. Here is the statement:
"The statement above is intended solely for the person(s) to whom it is addressed and is not to be publicized, republished, copied or repeated unless done so in its entirety. If you are not a named recipient, you are also on notice of its status. Please notify the sender immediately by reply e-mail and then delete this message from your system. You must not disclose it to any other person, copy or distribute it or use it for any purpose."
I don't mind posting the response to the board as I have not written or implied agreements with K&N. Can anyone suggest a reason the whole message could not be posted? Thai?
Lastly, the AirCharger is now installed on my V8 and I'm surprised at the difference in sound with the new intake. The sound is un-noticable when cruising, but is very prominent during moderate to heavy acceleration. Power gains are seemingly evident, but not significant. The engine seems more responsive, but this might be magnified by the increase in engine noise. What I don't understand is why the increase in noise mimics that of exhaust notes and not just louder air flow noises.

sorry to stray from the topic...side tracking happens! I know what you mean by the louder "exhaust" noise which is actually the intake cause my father's Tundrfa does the same thing. I couldn't figure it out unless the 4.7L has a quick outlet for the increased volume of air and it makes the exhaust louder. Either that or its an illusion and the air just has an extremely loud echo through the intake causing the illusion of an exhaust noise...

I love the new sound my rig has, it has a nice performace engine sound. I cleaned up the engine and tried to polish out the
valve covers a little bit. I also took off the plastic engine cover,
I like it better without it on there.

I have a 2001 SR5 w/TRD supercharger installed. I also bought a cone type K/N filter to install. I removed my airbox and was trying to figure out how to install it without leaving the MAF sensor out of the picture. Is this possible to do? There is a sensing line running to the stock air filter box also that I am not sure what to do with. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. Thanks.

They just don't want you to post their response out of context. For example, if they say "This will not void your warranty except for the intake portion" and you post that they said "This will not void your warranty" they will probably be angry. While its true they did say that, they also said stuff after it. Just post the entire reply, and everything will be ok.
I'd say just keep your old airbox and filter, and if something breaks that could be associated with the intake (ie sucking in debris) then just put it back on and take it to the dealer.
