i would never go to best buy in my life again after my recent experience, thats where i went first to get a viper put in.
i went to buy the viper that had remote start and keyless entry and set up to have it installed the next day. Now i work 50 hour weeks and i get paid a decent amount, but i get paid by the hour so i planned 30 min to go with my gf and drop my car off, fill out the paper work and go back to work.
We get there and he opens the box and it had already been installed and torn out of another car??
They sold me a completly used and torn up alarm system. The BB associate working in the garage tells me no worries, you can drive all the way across town to our other location and pick one up and drive all the way back here in morning traffic while is pouring down rain. :awais: So im gone because he had already started to tear my car down. I get to the other store and the guy working in car audio is a complete ass to me and i told him my troubles and nicely said a 10% discount would be acceptable for my hassles. He laughs and says dude im not giving you any discount you can go to customer service, gives me my box and points the other way.
i go to customer service and she rings up the alarm and the labor prices are included so she took that out because it was getting installed at the other location so after fighting for a discount i end up leaving paying $40 more that i should have. I asked to speak with a manager several times but he was busy with a door that wouldnt close in the back that had to be closed because it was raining . . . She also said no worries, when you get back to the other location you can wait in their customer service line and return this there for the full amount and re-ring it up with installation included for the cheaper price. I said whatever and took it and left.
i got back to the other location that my car was at in the garage and went and waited in the customer service line for about 15 min and finally got up there only to find out the idiot in car audio at the other place had handed me the completly wrong alarm system that had nothing but keyless entry.
So finally i get to a manager and he trys to sell me on this brand called avital. He states, it has everything that the viper you wanted had and its made by the same brand. i said whatever, do it and ill be back later.
came back and used the alarm for a few days and it sucked big time. had none of the features that the viper would have. I later found out that it was a knock off brand of viper that was on clearance that they were trying to get rid of. I got shafted by the manager of best buy
i said F-it and cut my losses and took everything to circuit city and they took my car in the garage immidiatly and tore out the avital and installed a python remote start, keyless entry, and 2-way alarm system and couldnt have been nicer about it, he talked to me half of the time he was doing it about why my experience went to wrong and he let me vent about it and then asked me the right question BB should have asked, "what do you want your alarm to do?" He told me the alarm i had was the same as viper its just CC carries python and BB carries viper but he could make it do just about anything i wanted it to. I told him nothing really just protect my car, he says ok ill throw an extra siren on then for free and i garentee youll want more stuff for it so bring it back in a week and let me know how things are going.
well ive had my system for a week and im deffinitly going back for a talking siren and a few other programming things but other than that, i will never go to BB again in my life and CC is still on the top in my book :bigok:
