Regular length on my rears since my coils are 1.5" SAW (#102-1650-195).
I'd assume you'd probably need to choose extended length with 3" rears.

Check with Filthy Motorsports, they should help you out.

So , how much lift you have now with only 7 treads exposed ? if you don't mind. Also, do you have any pics from the front, looking at the drive shaft ? curious of the angle that you have now vs when you had 17 treads.
Thank you

For those of you who went without the adjusters, do you regret not getting the adjusters? What are the disadvantages of going w/ the OEM set up? How is the ride vs w/ adjusters?

The redesigned vertical reservoir, applicable to the 4th gen?

Just opened mine to install, and it has this. Part number on the box is right. But instructions state 2010+.

You mean rears?
Piggyback?

No, Front coilovers.

For the 4th gen, all the pictures and how-to's, show the resevoir horizontal behind the wheel. But I opened mine and it's vertical in front of the wheel, like these for the 5th gen, and instructions say for 2010+. But the box label, and the tags on the coilovers say 4th gen/FJ.

Oh ya! I agree, here is my set up pre install:

Looks sick! :jump:

Can you let me know how the reservoir fits for your 4th gen. Im thinking about going kings as well but wanted to see if the mounting would be an issue.

Thanks,

Sorry to revive an old thread but thinking about pulling the trigger and ordering King shocks to replace my Icons. Are you guys going with the extended travel on the front? I have KDSS. Also with icon rear springs at 2" will I need to get the extended rears? I have a slimline bumper and winch in the front, will be replacing with a full front bumper soon. Should i opt for the 650 springs?

I did not go with extended travel on the front, but I will probably take out the spacer when I change the seals next summer.

I also have the 2" icon springs in the rear, and I have run them regular length, and with a set of extended travel (I took out the spacer when I changed the seals and shaft). I have had no issue, and I've had plenty of instances when the rear shocks have been fully compressed and at droop.

so with my kdss truck, I originally went with all regular (non-extended) parts
25001-243 - coilovers for KDSS
25001-279A - rear shocks with compression adj

No issue with the 2" icon springs. I have 7 threads showing on my passenger side coilover above the collar, and 9 on the driver. Matches the 2" icon rear springs nicely. No noticeable lean on my 4r.

Thanks sounds like maybe I should just go extended then. Why not.

You will definitely want to go with Extended Travel on the rear for 0-2" of coil lift.

There is no extra charge for Extended Travel on Front or Rears. Also on coil upgrade up front.

Just add Extended Travel and 650lb Coil to notes when ordering with us or anyone else.

Your will need an aftermarket UCA for Extended Travel Coilovers.

ICON Rear Coils are great for stock weight. Radflo makes a great 2" coil with 20% over stock weight. Part #C1500-500-220
