New Backup Lights

Bought a set of Rigid Industries LED Dually's over Christmas and figured I should finally put them on. These things have great build quality and really fit the look I want. You really get what you paid for sometimes when it's "Made in America".

I really like how the bracket attaches inside the heat fins. Looks very clean.

All mounted up and wired. I have them relayed into the backup lights for now. I'll run a manual on/off switch when I get around to ordering one.

I think they fit in really well plus I didn't have anymore head room in my garage and these sit level with my rack.

Here are some wiring shots as requested. Not much to see but everything is in loom and zip tied to the rack. I ran a 12g line from my fuse box in the engine bay.

LED Engine Compartment Mod

If you haven't seen this before I invented it and am amazing.

Pretty simple concept, order 4 LED lights and stick them under the hood. I got them from: Oznium.com

Start by soldering everything together on the kitchen counter. Remember, don't ask permission, you run the show.

Setup: Wrap all four positive together and solder to single wire. Repeat with negative. Don't mix these up because it matters. You have to connect + to + and - to - with LEDs.

(Don't be stupid, remember to put the heat shrink on before you solder)

Next step: Secure LEDS to desired position under hood. Don't cheap out on securing the wires. I used 3M double sided tape and only pealed off the one side.

I put back on the sound damping and ran the wire down and forwards to my fuse box.

I'm pretty happy with end result. Hard to tell with my crappy pictures but it really lights up the engine compartment and that's in a lit garage.

I'll try to get some real pictures tomorrow with a real camera. But yeah, I'm probably not actually going to do that.

Well it's been a busy weekend. I did the Satoshi grill this weekend. Not very hard but trimming the plastic is a pain in the ass.

Rocky Road Sliders

Got my new sliders today from Rocky Road. I'll mount them soon enough but here are some pictures in the meantime. These things are heavy and well built. The UPS guy had to call me to get help unloading them. Nice welds and I love the angled support.

Edit: These are a failure as they won't work with the X-REAS on the LE.
Edit Edit: They apparently will work but it involves relocating the X-REAS lines which I don't want to do. Honestly I might as well get TE sliders and cut the rockers if I'm going down that road.
