One of the thing I've always wondered about those front cooler racks, do they cause your engine temp to go up any due to blocking the radiator? Or are they out far enough for air to flow around?

Nice build! Two questions:

1. Could you tell us more about your front receiver hitch?
2. What did you use to paint your roof rack? Looks sharp. I'd like to go all black.

Nice rig.

I'll be coming through your neck of the woods tonight heading down to Frisco.

I saw a sweet white one rolling through today... wonder if that was you...

I've never noticed any problems with engine temp on my old Expedition. I have only done one trip with this one and I didn't see anything either and it was HOT (outside air temp):flamethrwoer2: when we were riding back from camping. Only about a 2.5 hour drive though.

Yep. It might look a little crazy, but once you use it for surf trips and camping trips there is just no other way to go. It's EXTREMELY convenient.

1. The front receiver hitch was a fortune. Like $250. I got it custom fabricated at a local welder. I can provide more pictures at your request.
2. I pulled the roof racks using the threat that shows how. I can't remember the guys name that made it. I think it was W8KBRDER.

AWESOME thread and made it easy. Then I took them to a local body shop and they charged me $75 to paint them semi-gloss. I thing it's a little to much, but if I pull them again I will pain them myself.

Did you have your frame/undercarriage coated with something? Truck looks great!

Thanks man. I got the truck undercoated by the local dealer. Thanks for asking, because that should be on the thread here. I'll try to add it. They really did a horrible job. I had to go back with acetone and remove a bunch off the TRD skid plate and the immediate inside portion of the fenders.

Would like more pics of the front receiver. I'm considering doing same and would appreciate any lesson's learned

Yea man. I can get some. It's actually a little crooked right now. But I can get some picture for you. Give me a couple of days and I will post them here.

Thank for the response about your frame. Im looking into different option if i were to get a 5th gen to prevent frame rust.

Sure thing man. The corrosion warranty is pretty sweet. I think it's 5 years straight from the factory. The undercoating gave a 10 year warranty.

Yea man. Since I didn't do it myself the only lesson I really learned was to check it well after install. The guys put it on crooked and I expect to get it fixed this Friday 7/3/15. dieck I plan on adding pictures today to the original front hitch post on the first page.

Cooler rack painted. I think it needs to be flat or semi-glossy, but that will be a project for another day. I may just paint it with bed liner like my old one... we'll see.
