The wifes cooking set up for the weekend.
THe winds got so high at night the tent was trying to fold up on us. the solution was strap it down to the wheel, worked great!

Nice!! I liked everything about your build, except for those ugly FJ steelies. The new wheels look 150% better IMO.:thumb:

HAHA thanks! I liked them more than the factory wheels, not enough to keep them obviously. They are sitting in my shed currently waiting on someone to buy them.
which reminds me, I need to post them on here for sale!

That's nothing though, I had probably 10 sets on my 06 STi in about a year and a half of ownership!

Well when you say you have a buddy at a tire shop that makes COMPLETE sense! I had an 05 STi stg 2 and loved that guy. Was there really anything different you noticed between the 06 and previous years model, besides headlights and the rear window spoiler?

I owned the 06 STi before the 04, there was about a 2 month break in ownership between the two.
The 04 had a sucky arm rest, haha. was too low down to use.
The 04 seemed more "Raw" than the 06. just riding around it seemed stiffer and more performance minded. the 06 was comfortable to drive for long distances compared to the 04. the brakes also felt very stiff in the 04 compared to the 06.
Center dash was different. the center console at the shifter was higher up in the 06, I preferred the 04 just because the storage cubby there. Also the 06 had a factory 6 disk, the 04 didn't have a radio in it at all. it was one of the rare ones that never had one installed and still had the factory block off plate.
I'm comparing these stock to stock, the 04 stayed stock, the 06 I modified lter on.
there were mechanical differences like motor mounts and center diff settings but those never really had any notacible difference.

well its been a month since I've done a update on here. if you follow me on instagram you would have seen this stuff already, if not here you go...
Tent came off for the season after the expo. We dried it out, sealed it up in plastic and put it in storage for the season.
We are really loving these wheels, we get complements on them all the time.
We had to put the factory rack of for a few weeks while i was welding in a floor on the roof rack. while i was at it I added a shovel and axe with holders for them. pretty simple setup. The floor is made from cattle gate i bought from southern equipment. $21 for a 6x20 piece. Its made of galvanized steels and its pretty strong, I've walked on it and it has minor flex to it. I just tacked it down where ever it made contact with the cross bars and every end that ran around the outside edges. The axe and shovel mounting was extremely simple. the axe had a hole already in the handle, a clevis pin thru it into the cross bar and its secure, but easy to take off if needed. the shovel i made swivel arms that come up on both sides of the shaft and a clevis pin locks it down. both are held in place with the flex of the handles providing tension against the pins. Simple. They are locked with a gun lock when i park it in areas that are sketchy hahaha.

Also took it out on the last planned off-road trip for the year. Meet up with the Fj cruiser group and got some great shots. made it to the top of Daniel Trail at uwharrie. I was proud of it for making it up with no real drama.
