Some more from the rides with local groups and friends. Also built a trailer over the summer. We took it on a few trips. It has a new home now with Broken Spoke Overland.

Painted the center grill black with plasti dip. I like the look, something a little more is coming soon.

And then the big thing happened....
I got tired of a steady paycheck with time off and the easy 9-5.
Saw a opportunity and went for it.
I turned our blog site into a business.

We went a little more modern and not so much jump on your face...
A few days after the wrap the Toyota Appalachian round up was held. Great event. Awesome people!

The last day there we met up with BOLD OVERLAND and BROKEN SPOKE OVERLAND and hit a few trails. Awesome guys, if you ever get a chance to talk with them, do it!

When I got back I found my self wanting more.
What more do yo ask?
More tire.
More tread.
I was tired of running the typical 285/70/17 everyone else is doing. So I decided to go for more. That required re doing my body mount chop. Easy step.

Once I got back, off to the tire shop.
Can you spy what is going on here?
Yup! Cooper STT Pros!
No more AT tires that won't balance for shit.
And they clear when fully tucked. Not a rub to be found(with major trimming in the front fender/bumper areas haha

Now you asking,
Hey, what size did you go with? Well, I went with 295/70/17.
For many reasons.
It's the largest tire that will physically fit stuffed in the rear wheel wells.
It's the largest tire you can possibly get in the front wheel wells
I didn't want to do 35's because you have to lift the truck more and loose flex. Y
Let's be honest here, yes people are running 35's in 5th gens. But donyonsee them flexing really good off road?
Keep the height and weight low with going as big of a fire as possible while keeping or gaining flex is the name of the game.
I plan on removing me rear sway bars as soon as my rear links get here so I can unleash the long travel finally!!!

YES!!!!! LOOKS FANTASTIC!! I had this idea awhile back and started a thread. No one jumped in to try until you!! Great job man!!
Question, what did you use to fill in the toyota emblem and make that solid?

Lots of questions about my front grill piece and light bar.
Here's a down and dirty.
Bridged the gap with paint paddles cut to fit and tape to make it as strait and flat as possible.
Laid down two layers of aluminum foil to keep he fiberglass resin off my paint
Sprayed cooking spray to act as a release agent
Laid down two layers of glass mat
Pulled it off the bumper and did the body work using body filler
Test for fit about 50 times getting the edges to fit perfect
Primed and painted it
Paint didn't look as good as the lower bumper trim so I had my vinyl guy wrap it for me, matches the trd lower perfect
Double side taped it on for good, that's how the trd ones are held in place
Cut the hell out of the upper bumper trim to remover the Toyota emblem and mesh grill
Cut some more to fit light bar
Light bar is a AuxBeam 26" 5D light bar, only light bar in the world I can find that's a true 26" bar that's 2.5" tall.
I don't know if this bar will work with a trd grill for obvious reasons
Prepare to cut even more after you think to are done cutting lol
Repeat last step about 10 times.
NOW FOR THE PICS...
