Any updates?

I got the suspension installed a while ago and got an alignment. It's a very nice ride now. It absorbs the bumps very well. Decent flex too. Except the front. The front can suck it.

The new thing is the wheelin' trip is over when Kurtis breaks a CV axle. I just can't keep the front end in one piece.

I've kept changing my mind about what axles I want to use when we go full retard. I'll know it when I buy them. But it looks like Dana 60s. Still going to be a while before we start cutting parts off but I am shopping for axles.

Yup, axles, D60/14B 4.56 gears. Normally a Detroit in the rear. Not this one though.

Previous owner put a 350 in it, borerd .030 over with a light cam. Needs a tune up and the carb adjusted. Not a race truck, but it does scoot pretty decent for a 6,000 lbs pig. The plan is to use the axles and sell everything else.

Been busy lately with college, work, wheelin' and everything else. Just been savin' up money for the axle swap and wheelin' when I can.

So, I did this today:

Rear end hopped to the driver's side and found a hole. It was an easy roll but a rock took out a good chunk of of my door frame and roof. I have some ideas for what's next.

Needs to be caged. Interior and some bastard rails on the exterior to make it actually safe again and cut the back off and move the hatch up. Those pictures do it no justice but I have about 8-10 inches less of head room now. This might be the start of the 4Runner being down for 8-10 months.


Made this last year. Chopping the back has always been in the plans. I just wasn't planning on doing it this soon.

I've been in the shop all day actually doing stuff so I supposed I can feed you ****ers.

Found a broken mount for my seat. Probably not related. Going to procrastinate fixing it for now as I have much larger fish to fry.


Did a bunch of combinations of this:


Got it to shut and seal. Time will tell more but when I poured water over it, it did not leak. Both driver side windows go fully up and down now unassisted.




As far the back window, this is as far as I have made it today. I am going to leave it taped off over night and if I still want to do it by tomorrow after noon, I'll start cutting. I still haven't committed to it yet, mainly because I still don't have a tow pig yet and I am at the point of no return. A tow pig will come later. Probably about the same time the 60 and 14B go in.

Still in the works. I'll start bending tube tomorrow. I ordered 2 cans of touch paint to make the chop job look half decent. Still needs some filler and sand paper time. Tube will be 1 3/4" x .120 DOM. Brake light, wiper, defrost, and washer squirt still work. Window does not go up and down. The bed will get bed liner after I fix the rest of the paint job. There is no more sunroof. I welded in a 1/8" piece of sheet metal steel. Can't compete in W.E. Rock 2016 with a glass sunroof. Fuel tank is out again to be relocated to the bed and I dropped back down to a 1" body lift since transfer case plans have changed and I will not be going with Toyota duals and will be going with a 4 speed Atlas. More money, more time. But I might as well do it right the first time, or in this case, the 4th time.
