Landcruiser Rims 93-98

So I was looking around on CL and came across these tires/rims 265/75R16 MUD TERRAINS WITH RIMS.
I am more intrested in the rims than the tires but can use a spare. My question is that I eventually want to put 285 75 16's on the runner and read a thread where these will work with out rubbing the UCA, is that true? :thanks:

I have the LC80 wheels from a '94 I believe. One thing you have to know about these wheels is that later years use a tapered lug and the earlier years use a mag seat lug (your current lugs). This means if you get the older ones you will need new lugs. I don't know the year range for the lug difference off the top of my head.

They fit great with 285s and no rubbing at all. I believe I paid $200 for mine and no centers. They aren't pretty, but I don't care cus I take them offroad.

You know of a resource that I can figure out what lug is needed or what year the rim might be? I am going to take a look at them tonight. The guy said $300 for tires and rims but price was centered around the tires is what I got from him. Said he just threw the rims with to make a sale (and no centers). Not worried if they are scratched or dinged, I'm gonna get them powdercoated if the price is right for the set.

Honestly, for that price I'd take them. I looked at the picture but doesn't really give much for detail. I also have had those federal tires and let me be the first to say, they are the loudest damn tires!! They get shyt done, but they are frikkin loud.

I say just ask him what year they are from. IIRC '93 & '94 use Acorn/Tapered lug nuts and '95+ use the shank/mag lug nuts but don't quote me. If these are '95+ wheels you should be fine with stock lugs. If not then no biggie you'll just have to go buy some tapered lugs.

One thing on these 4runners, the stock wheels sit on a lip on the hub and that holds most of the weight of the vehicle, not the wheel studs. So with different wheels if the weight is no longer held by the hub you should get studs designed to hold the weight of the vehicle. Also, the mag seat style lugs hold the vehicle weight further in on the stud than acorn type, etc so if you just switch lug nuts you will be putting more stress further out on the end of the studs. Something to keep in mind.

I can't believe the deals you guys find on CL! I've been searching for a few weeks now on Kijiji (our CL), and they have nothing by way of Toyota stuff! Everything I find is off a Ford, Chevy or Dodge! And finding 285 tires.....forget it! It's all 265's or 245's!

Up until 94 they used the acorn type lug nuts. From 95-97 they used shank style lug nuts. The shank style is what came on my 4runner. I got a set from a 94 so I spent 40 bucks at wheelers off road getting new acorn lug nuts. You can tell because they will have a black steel insert where the lug goes if they are the acorn style.

Before I even bought my truck I wanted these wheels on whatever I got, they are great on any 3rd gen. Ended up I bought a truck with wheels that spec out about the same, and I like on the truck. Snag em and sell the tires, buy new lugnuts if you need them, and you'll love em.

I found a pair on IH8MUD for $250.
currently waiting for second coat of primer and then painting (pics soon)

but what gets me is I have the shank/mag style on my truck now and really got lucky that the rims I got where the same (lucky me) but the kicker is my spare that came with acorn style lug nuts. so my question is to all that have not seen there spare tire in a while might want to check. cause to me I would think you would be stuck with the three lugs that hold the spare on to get you home if you had a flat, cause the spare rim wont take the lug nuts holding the tires on the ground on.

So $200 bucks later I got a set of wheels and tires, diff drop and a guy who can make sliders on island. Thank you CL. Oh, and they are acorn style lugs.

I bought my set in NC off craigslist. Got 5 of them for 200. I have the 5 original caps and 4 aftermarket OEM style center caps. You got a great deal and post pics when they are mounted.
