Larger Amsoil Ea oil filters for V8

Since Amsoil has discontinued the Ea57 filters for Toyota's, I was wondering if anybody has used any other Ea filters? Internet searches has shown that Ea15 and Ea34 filters would fit.

Either one will work. I'd opt for the 34.

Guys at the FJC forum have experimented with larger filters. There's exceptions but many run into the bigger filters (Ea15 and others in that size category) draining out creating a delay of oil pressure on cold start. People running the slightly larger 34 (or PL20195 etc) don't seem to have the cold start issue.

Now most of what I just told you is V6 stuff due to the filter being vertical (open end down). I don't know how the V8 filter sits and if it's as susceptible to drainout.

Do you plan going a long interval with the filter too?

The oil filters for the V8 "hang down" unlike the V6's. The longest I've gone without changing the filter is 12,000 miles. I also wanted to see if anyone had any clearance issues with the larger filter. But yeah wanted to stick with the longer intervals.
