Larger Tires

I have been undecided about what size tires I want to put on my 4Runner. I want to put 265 70 17 size tires, but they are a whole inch bigger than stock, and I am afriad that they will rub. Has anyone had any experiance with this Tire size on their 4th Gen 4Runner with stock suspension and no wheel spacer?

That's IS the stock size for my 4Runner. So....confused on your question as it's never been an issue unless your 4Runner has been lowered and is running on 15" rims.

The stock size on my tires are 265 65 17, 265 70 17 is about a one inch height differance, so that would make me think that it would rub, I hear so much that the wheel wells on the 4runner are small and only with a lift or spacers can one fit bigger tires than the stock ones.

theres a bunch of threads on that topic in this link. Toyota - 4Runner . org Forum - Search Results bottom line is most 265/70/17 ATs fit fine on stock suspension with stock wheels, but without wheel spacers. a mud terrain in that size may have ever so slight rubbing at full turn, this may also hold true for BFGs AT since they're more squared off, but proper alingment should solve any problems. ur speedo will be off 2 mph at 60 & up, so when it reads 60 ur doing 62, below that you'll be on.

i just ordered a set of gdy wrangler silent armor in the size of 255 75 17 and they are an over all dia of 32.1 inches which is bigger that stock and i was told they will fit with out any rubbing. now if they do, its an easy fix with a dremel and sanding disk or cut of wheel. its only sopoused to be the fender liner which you just have to move it forward and drill a new wholes or the mud flaps. hope this helps. ps the tires i payed 111 per tire in that size off tire rack. 535 shipped to my door.
