LC coil spring Color codes

I can say for a 100% fact that those are all font springs. The landcruiser rear springs have far less wraps and much bigger. Like you said in a later post your buddy dug them out of his shed. He probably forgot where they came from.

That's really interesting. It is true that they came out of his shed but they definately came off his 97 fzj 80. Is it possible that the 8 wraps were from the drivers side and the 7.5 wraps were from the passengers side?

That's awesome! I really appreciate that man. You can give him my email... [email protected] ...Any idea on what a reasonable price for them would be?

I know that Katy did not have any 80 coils in stock when I ordered so they came from Sierra Auto Recycling in Ridgecrest, CA. Their number is (760)446-5559 if he wants to give them a call ASAP to secure those rear coils. Contact name is David Healey. All this info comes from the UPS packing label.

SLee sells those new @ $240 a pair if that helps you at all.

To be honest I can't be for sure. Whenever I took stock springs off I thought they all had the same color codes...paid no attention to whether they were different from left to right. I was always focused on my new springs going on and could care less about the stock ones except that I knew I was gonna sell them to 4runner guys :thumb3: I bet I pay attention now whenever I help my friends with theirs. Wish I knew someone about to upgrade their LC with a new lift.

Actually I just read this. I sold him those coils before I had any idea that I'd buy a 4runner. They were from a 91 btw.

Good to know!

I am hoping there isn't a difference side to side - I really didn't pay any attention to which one went where (I can check of course) and after fighting with the coils to get them in, I don't think I want to swap them side to side (if I can get away with it!

The rear has been revised to include 12" travel 5150 shocks, combined with the Fox 2.5's up front it should ride pretty nice!

Stuck out on site at the moment, shocks arriving Monday I believe, hoping to post up completed pictures soon...

PM me what you paid for those foxs and where you got them. A link would be nice :biggrin2:

I will erase this message to keep thread on track

So I got some OME 60027 rear shocks, will these work with the LC coils? Also, I might get some LC coils from a 97 LC but the sizes are different on each side? The longer one is 19 1/4 inches, and has two purple dots a green dot then a white dot. the shorter one is 19 inches and has two purple dots a blue dot then a white dot. And on the front, I want to use some 2004 Tundra 4WD coilovers.

Any input? What else do I need? Thanks again!

Here's some pics:

No clue on the fronts but Im sure someone will be able to chime in there but can you tell us how many wraps the rears are? Can you take a picture that shows the whole springs? I would say thought that you hould run the taller spring on the drivers side. Are the front coils standard tundra or TRD? The nice thing about the TRD's is that they are a progressive spring and so ride a little nicer on the street. But honestly my buddies Tundra (nonTRD) rides great. You are getting everything together its gonna be sweet.

Here's some pics:

from the 2nd post...

21" Blue Pink White 9.25 wraps
21" Grey Orange White 9.25 wraps

20.25" Blue Yellow White 8.75 wraps-one of these is a confirmed LX450

19.5" Green Yellow White 8.25 wraps-one of these is a confirmed LX450

19.5" Purple Green White 8 wraps

19.25" Double Purple Dark Blue White 8 wraps

19" Double Pink Light Blue White 7.5 wraps

18.5" Double Pink Grey White 7.5 wraps

18 7/8" Orange Orange White 7.75 wraps

It looks like you have double pink, light blue, white 7.5 wrap and another with purple, green, white 8wraps

so the Purple, green, white would go on the driver side and you should be even...

Thanks Sam. Those are 8 wrap LC coils. The guy selling them took those pics. I know, not very clear. But I'm still a bit concerned about them not sitting level. That 1/4 inch could make a huge difference once they are in. And those coilovers, the seller does not know if they are from a TRD Tundra, but they do have more coils than another set I was going to buy of the same year. Will I need spacers for the front? Thanks for all your help.

BTW, here's some pics of the two sets of coilovers I can buy, same price. But notice one has more coils than the other and one pair has a white ring towards to bottom and the other has a red one?

Ha! LOL. Nope, not really. Yeah, that's what Sam said as well. It's $30 bucks for the pair. Maybe a 1/4" ain't all that bad. Well I hope not. Anyone else here have the same scenario with the 1/4" unevenness?

Jokes aside put that taller one on the driverside. There will always be somebody in the driver seat if the truck is moving. atleast I hope so.

I'll take your advise cj80cruiser. I guess it shouldn't make too much of a difference. I'm getting those coilovers for $90 shipped, that's why I'm thinking about going for it.

Tundra 4WD coilovers w/800 miles= $90 shipped
LC front coils from a 97 LC= $40 shipped
Rear OME 60027= $120 shipped

Total for suspension parts so far= $250 including shipping and no taxes. Not too bad on a budget.

What else will I need? Diff drop? Spacers? Or is it ready to drop in once I get all the parts?

Thanks again.

Didn't know you could get those so cheap. Did you get the red or white striped tundras? and where did you find them?

I went with the red striped. They had a couple of more coils than the white. I think that's a good thing? Maybe they are TRD? Anyone else have some input on these? I found them on craigslist after searching nationwide for Tundra coilovers. Did you get my PM cj80cruiser? And the 8 coil LC coils, they are actually $15 for the pair plus shipping!

from my little bit of searching I believe the TRDs will be yellow and blue. I guess those are bilstein shocks????

That's really interesting. It is true that they came out of his shed but they definately came off his 97 fzj 80. Is it possible that the 8 wraps were from the drivers side and the 7.5 wraps were from the passengers side?

I found my pics that show the difference between front and rear LC coils.

Anyone else??

I know there are more LC coils out there than me, steeze and fonerunner!

I need to know your color coding, and maybe post your measurements too...

Please?

thanks so much! :thanks:

So in doing my research lately I've at least come up with the years that some of these coils come off of...

19.25” Dbl Purple, Dark Blue, White 7.5 wrap – 1994 LC (D side); 1997 LC (P side)

19” Dbl Purple, Light Blue, White 7.5 wrap – 1994 LC (P side)

19.5” Purple, Green, White – 1997 LC (D side)

And I'll actually have the info from another 97 & another 94 soon.
