LC2013`s build thread

So question for whoever reads this........I have a chance to pick up a local pair of Icon ext travel coil overs w/ approximately 20k on them for $700 (includes spanner).

Should I jump on it or? Pics below.....

If it is a legit 20k, that seems like a reasonable deal. Depending upon how the PO used/abused them, you might be getting close to a rebuild. How bad is the rust?

Also, check with grantprior13. He had a set for sale that were rebuilt and a good price.

Bleh

Been working on this......

Not perfect by far but it should work well enough. What a pain it has been........

Got a box in today ...they look great....thanks Bonyfattony !

Also took the gf out to give her some tips on driving in mud. She had a blast and couldn't stop smiling.

Also...anyone which they would have upgraded to 700lb coils?20160904_144717.jpg20160907_194425.jpg

If it would stop raining I would get some better pics of the C/Os.....

So instead of more fun stuff I ordered a set of LCAs, cam/caster assemblies, wheel bearings assembly , and a CV axle so I can install them all at the same time. Im almost wondering if I should get the TC alignment tabs.....they look like a pain to install though.
-_-

Im also going to pull my rear shocks to see if they need to be rebuilt.....they are rough over damn near any bump....

Get the TC alignment tabs. Why would they be a pain to install? Remove the old ones, weld up the news ones. Done.

Well mainly they would be a pain because I do most of the work at the auto hobby shop on base and they don't allow welding there. So I would have to install all the new arms/CVs and then take it home and grand off/weld the new tabs in.

Trying to get these situated.

Do you have any close up pics of how you mounted your fire extinguisher to that?

I used a quick fist rated at 55 lbs and a retaining cord. Ill be attaching a retaining lanyard......just in case.

I also pulled the spare and there were.....interesting burn marks. lol

Those aren't burn marks, that's where the tire sits against the mounts that hold it in location.

Ya they definitely do that. I hate that location, not that there is many better choices.

So.....I realized how dumb I am today.

It looks like instead of hooking up my blinker into the wiring harness I hooked it up to the parking light......much smaller bulb. -_-
