LED Bars on Gobi Rack (Pictures)

I've been looking around to find ideas on how to mount lights to my Gobi roof rack, I requested Gobi to leave 3 openings with the idea of installing 3 LED bars but the bent on the sides has made it very difficult to do. I'd like to see pictures of different ideas on how to install them, what brands, or whether I should go with a 40" Bar and end the problem there. I have already purchased 2 OPT7 8" lights which I had in behind the grill and that I just removed to try to install on the sides, if successful My plan is to order a 14" for the centre and have 3 lights up there. Share some pics if you can....

Look up some pics of Socaltrails setup. IIRC he had smaller light bars up on top.

He did end up ditching these in favor of a 30 or 40"

You could always undermount a larger bar like I did and move the wind deflector to the top.

How did you run the wires for the roof rack led bar? did you drill the roof , or run them down the side of the wind shield?

All wires are in a flexible loom and are run down drivers side gap in front windshield.

The only options you really have are drill the roof. Buy waterproof bulkhead connector, install then wire the roof. Most expensive. Most possibility of issues. Leakage etc. But the best option of removal of rack with connector and best looking. Though can be problematic with side curtain airbags in the a or b piller.

Second run it through the gaps in the windshield. Make sure that the wires are protected in a flexible loom. Not that plastic stuff. You are limited to the amount of wires you can run in it. IE even a full rack load pf lights will be noticable at close inspection. Mine with all lights run you can see the flexible loom. I have at least 7 pairs of wires run. Could of had it put together better in the loom sharing the ground. But my fault communicating with circuit builder who made my harness for me. I am still satisfied with the look. Some do ground at the rack. It is problematic at best to do so. If you only plan on front light bar a set of wores will run easily. I have a total of 7 lights on my rack.

Running your harness through the firewall, then through the interior of the vehicle and out through one of the rear piller gromments in the hatch. A good option but more expensive to run. Takes more skill to install. Can have issues with th loom of wires being worn and pinched by the hatch. Issues with water intrusion through the firewall and the rear grommets. Though with bigger looms no wires really show. Option I should have taken. Yet I am looking at having my windshield trim removed by a professional and then reinstalled after hiding the loom. I think that this will work and only show a small but at the top of the winshield in the gutter channel.

Think long and hard aboit your end results. Wire everything the first time in the harness. Even if for a future install. Don't combine lighting and communication wiring in the same loom or the same run. You will get noise! Like I said in my pm buy high quality components, use either a deutch connector or metra pack connectors. You can get pre wire connectors or buy seperate parts and tools. I have done both. Hobby tools under $100 for each seperate tools. Buy a brand name light Rigid, Visoln X, Baja Designs, etc. its expensive but dont fool around. You will only be happoer in the end. Even though it takes more tome to recoup the costs. Look even for used products to save money. Good luck. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

I know the thread is about the roof rack light bar, but can I ask what light it is you have on the SSO bumper? I didn't get the inlaid one but kinda wish I had one in between the bumper and hoop like you do. Figuring out if that's still an option. Thanks! Truck looks amazing, by the way.

Which brand... Rigid?

The brand is ANTT, bought it from Amazon. Not sure how good it is since I haven't wired it yet. It had good reviews and it was cheap enough, I Rigid is a rip off. But that's just my opinion. I paid $160 for that bar

Just got my Gobi Stealth no-rise installed this weekend. Wanted to send out a request for pictures of front and rear single row lights. Please include the make/model of light bars that you purchase and pictures if possible so I can see how you mounted them. Hoping there are some good options that won't exceed the top bar of the no-rise. Cheers!

I was thinking of going Aurora 40" S1 on the front once they get back in stock. They seem to be a good value option as I can't bring myself to paying ~$1,000 for something that won't get used that often.

I ordered my Gobi with the Rigid LED bar as an option. Since decided to swap in a Baja and working on the install. Either will fit in a 40" - either curved or straight.

Anyone looking for a new Rigid RDS new & still sealed in the box? Give Gobi a call for their light brackets and you're good to go ;-)

Interesting, the included Gobi mount that you show is much nicer than the one I got that came with the no-rise option. The one I got is just an "L" bracket with a single open slot cut into it.
