LED Headlight Bulbs - Check em out!

I agree, the 9005 in the highbeam shouldn't be an issue with the older gen 1800lm version. This new version definitely didn't turn...fit in the hole and everything.

The H11 is another question.
 
WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! Installed my VLED h11 this evening! Yes, they don’t fit due to not enough space. But if you pull out headlight it’ll fit perfectly fine! :juggle:
It took me maybe little bit over an hour.
I like it so far. After the cheap version of HID, looks great. Also i think the outcome is much better from what i had. In terms of visibility and wider view. Not sure if that is because I had cheap HID or because these bulbs are awesome:whoo:
I only hope they going to last a long time...
Do not return, just do it!:D

P.S. Now i want another pair for High Beam.

Good news! I'll do it the same way then. Back to being excited! Can't wait to be 100% led up front.
 
I figured if you pulled out the headlight you could make it fit....good to know they do! Take pics please...

For me, I just didn't want to be stuck with a burned out/defective bulb and the only way to R&R is to take the headlight housing out - especially when you are stuck somewhere where you need light.

What do you mean if you pull out the headlight it will fit perfectly fine?

He means you have to physically un-bolt and remove the headlight housing in order to install the bulb, then re-install the headlight housing.

It's been a while since I've poked my head under the hood but couldn't you alternatively remove whatever's blocking your way behind the headlight, like the battery and stuff?

It's mostly on the passenger side and no you can't move it as it's the chassis.
 
I have verified that the headlights do in fact fit and work per KVA's instructions. Ran out to 4x4 Labs and installed before my final bumper install (I didn't really want to have to take that bad boy off to get it in). Looks like I will easily be able to leave the side bolt out so that I can still get the headlight housing out after the final bumper install after it comes out of powder coat. They are probably 2x brighter than the stock incandescent bulbs. Sorry, forgot to take a picture when I did the first test when stock was on one side/v-leds on the other:dammit:. Much much better! :D

Enough talk, lets see some output shots! Very interested to see the usability (if worth it) of these in the headlight and/or high beam slots.

Looking at other options less expensive then a good retrofit. These look promising.

Sorry, just didn't want to take horrible photos with sunlight behind the rig up on stands looking like it was stripped in the ghetto but with some of the very nice new armor installed... Ok, didn't want to share what my truck looks like right now. I'll get some, but you gotta wait for mine! The cut offs are excellent and output is nice without being overly scattered like plug n play hid. Maybe 4everunner can help out.

Bumping up an old thread.

How are you guys liking the LED's?

Im about to buy a set of Cree CXA1512 in H11 and 9005, and maybe another set of H11 for the fogs.

What temp ranges should I get? 3000k for fogs, 4300k for highs and 5000k for lows? Make sense? Or dumb question but do LED's even come in different temp ranges? I don't want white light in my fogs.

I read every post through the first 6 pages...

Has anyone added these to their 2014's yet with the projector housing?

I'm curious to see how these perform compared to TRS HID conversion...

After reading the posts about the lack of heat generation for ice buildup on the headlight, as well as the beam spread and output, I'm a little hesitant to consider this option. I plan on contacting the company to get information about a price point for a hi/lo and fog lamp swap.

Any takers on this or someone who already has LEDs in their headlights?

If so, pics please!!!!
