LED Headlights

I remember searching around a while ago and saw something about LED headlight bulbs, but never paid much attention to them at the time. So today i decided to do a lil browsing and came across these

ORACLE 18SMD 9005 9145 H10 LED Replacement Bulbs from Advanced Automotive Concepts

Granted these are the bulbs for the T4R High beam bulbs. I already have HIDs in my low beams. After installing the Low beams, I lost a lot of my FM radio stations with the lights on. Nothing but static.

So, rather than making the problem worse with more HIDs, i was thinking of trying the LEDs in the Highs and Fogs. So on to my question:

Has anyone tried these yet or heard anything about them?

I would imagine those only put out a fraction of the lumens your halogen high beams put out.

Good choice, I would have them in.

As far as I know, there has only been one LED headlight approved by the gubment for on-road use. When the prices come down, I'm sure Toyota will be installing them. Here it is: Truck-Lite - Catalog Product : LED Headlamp

You are getting static from the radio b/c one or both of your ballast is bad or not properly grounded. I have this problem right now and its the ballast. Mine are morimotos, and are said to suffer from this problem from time to time. Denso (OEM) ballasts do not suffer from this (circuitry is different).

@CookieRoe, I've tried messing with the grounds but no luck. I think once the weather starts getting a lil warmer and I can work outside again, I'll order replacement ballasts and see what happens... The iPod and CDs are getting a lil boring

Got a smartphone? Pandora or Rdio apps. Pretty good for the mean time.

The Lexus RX400h (not sure which model year, but I know it is the latest generation) has LED headlights - both low beam and high beam. Same on the Lexus LS600h.

I wonder when the retrofit experts will be able to get parts for those lights so that it filters down to guys like us that would like LED headlights that work.

Me too. I was tinkering with the wires for a long time. I was told by the seller (lightwerkz) that sometimes morimoto ballasts do that, however not all of the time. The problem is in the circuitry. I was told Densos have that engineered OUT so it doesn't happen. The Morimotos I'm trading in for Densos. (I have the morimotos on my Civic and Densos on my 4Runner). I agree, the CDs/USB music is getting very old. Static gets bad when its foggy/rainy out. On a nice sunny day, static isn't as bad.

No doubt in my mind that LED lights will be all the rage in the aftermarket. Look for them to be expensive though. When HIDs came out for the aftermarket, they were Looney Tooney expensive. LEDs low beam lights are also available on the Prius.
