LED or HID

Just wondering, can I just turn on the LED light bars on the bumper and roof rack when I get them installed when I need more light? Will this achieve the same result? I guess the problem is there will be no upper cutoff so you'll blind oncoming traffic. Could turn them on and off like high beams depending if there is traffic. Is it illegal to drive down the road with LED light bars on?

It's also very simple in that it required no modification to the headlight itself, other than paint if you want. No, if you buy the one I put in the link, it comes with everything you need. The bulbs that the projector use are H1 bulbs. The harness from TRS you will select H4

Thanks, absalom! Could you please let me know why you recommend 3" projectors (D2S) with 55 watt ballasts? Actually I have this HID 55watts on my headlights and want to know if this can be used in conjunction with the 3" projectors.

For a simple retrofit for a beginner, the 2.5" kit linked here will probably be the best bet.

I was just thinking this. It's the only way to maintain the original beam. I get my harnesses from Susquehanna Motor Sports(rallylights.com).
If you use lights that blast the drivers facing you, be prepared your live your life with everyone else blasting you back every time you drive at night.

The 3" MD2S is no more difficult to install than a 2.5". Not sure why you would recommend against it.
Mine were incredibly easy. I didn't cut or trim anything- other than the shroud.

I take that back- there was a little nub on the inside of the reflector- where the projector rests against- that I clipped off in order to let the bowl sit flush against the housing. But that should be done with any retrofit, so it's really irrelevant.

I retract my statement then. The only D2S ones I had seen required major surgery of the housing.

Ok, since the shipping from the DDM Tuning is to high for my country (PR), I will go through EBay and think to buy the following items that are free shipping to my country; also I will to try the above mentioned Kensun conversion kit 55W HID (that I have already mounted on my 99 headlights) together with these projectors and shrouds. I hope that these projectors fit perfectly on my headlights without a major modification. Please I will appreciate your inputs and help regarding this project:

You are also going to need D2S bulbs and balasts. You may also need to get a wiring harness that will activate the high beams properly, since our trucks have rotating ground headlights. The will not work with H4 HID bulbs.
