Leftover 2012 Limited - How much? (Canadian Buyers)

I know I know.... I will hopefully touch base tomorrow.
Have any of you bought any extended warranty and if so, what kind of deal were you able to get? I haven't been able to uncover much for Canada but, it seems stateside there are some good deals from the notorious "Troy" and "Jerry." I understand we can't buy ECP from the US though- is that correct?

I can't answer the question about American ECP, but I would assume no. There are a ton of options to suit your driving style. I purchased a fourth year with an additional 90k for $1,500. It came with my first few services free, roadside assistance, rental when vehicle in shop and a few more things. The biggest seller for me was that I do 45k or more per year and without ECP I would be without any warranty in no time.

Any word on what those upgrades might be? I haven't been able to find anything.
Also, the re-sale is certainly great. One thing to consider, though, is Alberta buyers have a 10% savings via no PST so naturally prices will be a bit inflated there (not to mention the economic factors).

Only Toyota knows for certain, and it does not reveal anything in advance, but the consensus on this board and elsewhere is the 2014 MY, which will be the 5th gen's fifth year, will see some tweaks before a substantial remake in the seventh or eighth year. There are other threads here on what others are expecting.

Yeah- it seems it would likely be minor if anything. I'll try not to think about the 6th Gen for now... Hate the idea of a vehicle looking dated but Toyota's seem to retain their curb appeal. 4th Gen's look good as do the previous Sequioa's IMO.
Have any of you bothered with rustproofing or undercoating? Lots of mixed reviews I know as per this forum. I know Rob didn't. Just curious about the others?

I did the undercoating. My dad's sequoia is 10 years old and when you're driving behind it the car is practically red underneath. You can tell its just on the surface, but I didn't like the look so I went for it and hopefully it will help.
I also did 3M rock guard on the entire front end.

Well here's the scoop: I am going in tomorrow to see if we can reach a deal. Got everything pre-approved thru my bank (I work for one). I also asked my sales rep to look into the running boards toyota.ca and the window sticker claim the vehicle should have in advance of our meeting.
Not sure if they will budge anymore in price but I will definitely not settle on no running boards without a further reduction in price as the limited package cost includes them. Also going to request mudflaps and the dealer undercoating (black stuff) they brag about.
I will hold off on ECP and wait til the 3rd year to buy it by shopping around.

Yeah- that's pretty well what I was able to negotiate- a couple thousand off. I got one dealer down to $49,100 OTD on a '13 LTD. I'd rather save close to 6k and go with the leftover if we can agree on a deal.
I would explore across the country but I have to sell my Jeep first, which could take months. My end result wouldn't be any better going privately... Maybe $1k extra tops... And I think that's a stretch based upon current market in my area and what is selling. So for me, trading in will save time and still net me close to the same dollar amount.

Go For It! I know you've had some hesitations on the '12, but trust me you won't have buyers remorse. Like I said earlier, you will smile every time you see another ltd. thinking about how much you saved on yours compared to that guy.
And definitely don't budge on your running boards. I've yet to see a Cdn Ltd without them, so either get the $ worth or the boards. Best case scenario you get the $ off and go get some sliders. Happy shopping.

My '12 actually came from over your way. Sydney. There were no '12s left and no Black SR5s on the island in late Oct when I was looking, so the dealer here worked a deal to get me the closest one. Ended up having nearly the same km's on it as yours, because they drove it to the ferry and I went out and picked it up when it hit the island. I was actually by O'Regans in Halifax only a few weeks earlier and they had some '12s on the lot that they were offering pretty good discounts on at that time. The service I get at my dealer is way too good though to ever consider buying from anyone else. Came home and they gave me an even better deal. Good luck tomorrow.

Too true. They will sell you a US vehicle for a comparable price to a Canadian vehicle. They'll even highlight the features that weren't available in Canada. Then when you go to trade it in they will tell you its not worth as much because its a US vehicle.

Hello FELLOW 4Runner owners! Good news, we reached a deal. Not as sweet as I demanded, but sweet enough. Got them to throw in the 10 year guaranteed undecoating, mud flaps (installed for me), and a $450 further reduction in our agreed upon price because there were no running boards. Thank you everyone for your help in my decision
