Leg pain - stock seats

That's old age. Welcome to the club. Hadn't had any type of joint/back/ankle/leg pain until I turned 36. Then it's all crashed down at me at once with a couple of other diseases. Seems that monke wasn't meant to leave this long. As for the solutions ankle brace ortorex.com helps me a lot while driving. Almost forgetting about it completely. Find something like this and it should help

Here's another praise for seat jackers. Before I would drive 4-5 hours and my right knee would be throbbing. I just finished a 12 hr drive and a 5.5 hr drive coming out here to Ouray and I didn't have any issues. Hit a couple trails, Telluride, drive back to Ouray, and I feel fine. Overall, I needed a more upright seating position and the seat jackers is what did it for me.

Just got my jackers installed on a powerseat OFRD...BF purchase. The lack of support was only an issue for me on drives more than a couple of hours As others have mentioned, jackers are a game changer. I think anyone taller than 5'10" would benefit from the increased adjustability. For reference i'm 6'1".

Odd, I have experienced pain in the top of my legs (quads) after a 5 hour drive a few weeks ago. first long trip in my 2020 Nightshade. took over a day to go away. just chalked it up to old age, but maybe leg position had something to do with it. like the other poster, I'm 5'8" with 30 inseam.

Yep

So had same problem on 05 4r & someone suggested washers as a cheap fix , so I experimented & found 4per bracket raised me fine & with height adj also raised front of seat up all the way haven't looked back ! My 2 cents :peace:

I'm short at 5'8" with a 30" inseam.

I found that lifting the front of the seat put too much pressure on the backside of my thigh.

It's hard to explain, it's not a fore/aft issue, but a left/right issue. Not sure if that makes sense.

I'll try moving the seat back more. I keep it pretty low and flat but will move it back and raise the front some to see if that helps. Oddly, i've never had this issue in any other vehicle i've owned.

Left/Right issue makes lots of sense. I had the same issue sometimes when I first got into a 4R.

Have figured out my a$$ I mean hips are not centered in the seat. It's counterintuitive but if my right leg is not feeling right, I shift TO the right to get centered in the seat. Somehow, being further away from the side bolster is more painful.

Every time I get in now, I check with my hands to make sure I'm centered. It's often less than 1/2" but makes a huge difference.

So we just got back from the central valley having bought a 2020 SR5 and in their new condition, the seats are uncomfortable and my back was killing me and my daughter said that the seats in my heavily broken in 2013 TE are much squishier and softer… But I remember they were very firm when I first bought it.

So just get some fat son of a ***** like me to sit in your car for seven or eight years.

I was having issues with the seats in my ORP and it would cause lower back / hamstring pain. The lumbar support in the seat was not in the right place for me. I ordered an external lumbar pad and it has helped tremendously. If it doesn’t work you can always return it.

The uncomfortable seat actually put me on the fence about buying one of these but I figured I would adjust to it or find an addition; I just drove 10 hours a day across country, and the thing that saved my life: this seat cushion

*1" is higher than I wanted to be in the seat but it eliminated leg fatigue.

Here is your solution. Totally game changer in the 4Runner for me, especially on longer drives: Front Seat Jackers - 4Runners, GX and FJs

I was just about to comment on these... I'm 6'3" with a 34-35" inseam. even with the front of my seat raised all the way my back would always hurt on long drives - not enough leg support.

Adding only the front seat jackers provides better support of my legs, which in turn helps the back. You can also adjust the seat for a bit more leg room... I can get comfortable similar to driving a full size pickup with these again.

Recently I rode in the passenger seat after a long hike - there was ZERO leg support and very uncomfortable. I ordered a second pair of front seat jackers over BF and got them installed yesterday, I could notice improved comfort just sitting in the driveway!

Great thing to try for additional comfort.

Hey thanks guys. Just bought 2 pairs. They are spendy but considering I do some 2-9 hour road trips weekly, I think it will be worth it.

I'll end up yanking them off and putting them on the next vehicle, whether that's a T4R or a GX. That helps me swallow the price tag.

Hopefully they work as well for you as they have for me! Worst case you could always sell them for a good amount.. I think you'll be happy with them!
