Lego 4Runner

Since there is a pretty sweet Land Rover Defender Lego model out there, I thought I'd look for a 4runner.

This kid has got the modding bug early :)

Maybe we need a Lego Offroad/Overland thread :)

Oh gah, that 2nd set was one of my dream sets when I was a kid.

I'm not going to lie... I've already designed the front end of the 4Runner on the Lego Design program. I haven't managed to figure out how to do the C or D pillar.. otherwise the design is finished in my head.

Got inspired last night after I got the baby to sleep. Needs work, but I'd say it is 90% there. I have to add my hitch mount bike rack and some bikes. :)

Awesome! Love it when he says "and this is my upgrade" :D

And yeah he must be related to Antman in some way. :hiding:

Apparently Lego killed the "Design by Me" program. :wtf:

I was going to make an FJ for my FIL and a Taco for my dad. :(

Can't help it. I loved legos as a kid and even though I'll never hope to actually build these, I enjoy designing them and figuring out how to make it as legit looking as possible.

Damn, the Trail Team FJ looks down right perfect.

I hate Lego so much right now for not allowing me to spend $200 on lego versions of Toyota trucks. lol

For the brothers and sisters who are Lego Fans, let it be known, I live 1/4 mile from the largest Legoland in the world, right here in Winter Haven Floirda. Although I am not an expert, it is my understanding that this "Legoland" carries lego products "kits" if you will, that cannot be purchased any where else. Could be scuttlebutt, but I think it might be true. So, if there is ever a need, let me know and I can see what I can do. Be safe and have a very, Merry Christmas!

And, just to add to the last post, check this out.

V-12 DIESEL ENGINE THAT FITS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND

WATCH THIS CLIP, IT’S AMAZING VIDEO OF TRUE CRAFTSMANSHIP.

AN OPERATIONAL V-12 DIESEL ENGINE THAT FITS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND.

This is not CNC technology; this guy made everything at home on his lathe and drill press.

Took 1220 hours to make the 261 pieces.

Note the end-loaded crankshaft into the block (like an Offy), 12 individual cylinder heads, TINY rods and pistons, dual "underhead" cams with pushrods to rockers in the heads.

And, he did break-in runs using an electric drill driving the crankshaft!

Even if you're not an engineer, you'll love this....
